Lomit's — Restaurant in Providencia

I ordered a chicken caesar salad - one of the worst I'd had. Clearly they have no idea what a cesar salad is. The chicken was dry, the salad came with tomatoes, olives and strings of cheesr.

I ordered a beer and mynwife ordered wine. The waiter asked if we wanted chardonnay but my wife asked for sauvignon blanc. Before we knew it, the guy opened a bottle of wine 17,000 clp if you please. We protested that we only wanted a glass but the waiter pointed to the menu to show that the sauvinon blanc was only only availably as a bottle. The waiter should have checked if my wife wanted a bottle as I ordered beer for me.

One of the only restaurants open on Good Friday when we were looking for dinner, and it turned out to be a great choice! Friendly welcome even though I couldn't understand them because my Spanish is terrible. We all had a good giggle at my incompetence. Luckily the menu had English translations.

We ordered grilled chicken and the Lomit's skewers - both delicious and an enormous quantity of food. We left full and happy after a couple of draft beers. Atmosphere is cosy - feels more like an alpine eatery in Switzerland. Lots of locals filling up on...

This place has been there for decades, maybe some of the waiters too. I like to order a vegetarian salad (Ensalada Vegetariana) because most meat entrees are pretty big. They have lots of choices including beef, pork, seafood. Portions are large, and if you add bread, fries, and other sides. it can really add up. "Palta Reina" a stuffed avocado is also light, but not vegetarian as it normally comes with chicken or ham. They also have vegetarian sandwiches, but some include hardboiled egg...
