I was strolling by and noticed this pizza joint that marketed itself as a New York style pizzeria. The pies looked decent enough, so I figured, why not give it a shot? I lived in NYC, and my family's from NYC and the Tri-State, so I'm no stranger to a good slice and the slices looked the part. I ordered the "New Yorker" slice, which cost 45 HKD (about 6 bucks USD) double what you'd pay back home. The slice looked alright, so I took a bite... and it was dry as hell. Seemingly, no sauce. I asked one of the workers if it was normal for the "New Yorker" slice to have no sauce, and he tells me, "Oh, there's sauce, it's white sauce." White sauce? Are you kidding me? What kind of New York-inspired pizza calling itself the "New Yorker" would ever have white sauce instead of a classic tomato base? This ain't New Haven Clam Pizza. I checked out some other reviews, and it turns out a lot of folks had complaints about their slice being dry because they were reheated slices. Here's the thing, 99% of New York slices are reheated, but they're not dry because there's sufficient amount of sauce on each slice. This place? Barely any. Long story short, I ended up finding a better pizza spot down the block. I would not recommend Paisano’s unfortunately. I really wanted to like this place, it looked the part but slices that lack sauce and a New York inspired slice with white sauce is 100% criminal. That’s a dealbreaker for any real New...
Read moreCame across the place on a Monday night and the kids were yearning for some pizza. We are a family with four with a teenager and a pre teen.
The food was actually pretty decent. We ordered 3 14 inches pizzas (the smallest size) and all 3 were flavourful and delicious.
The only issue we had however was the service. We ordered the smallest size pizzas and it came out much bigger than expected. We ended up only managing to finish half of what we ordered. Any decent service staff would have given some kind of advice we over ordered. When we asked for the remaining food to be packed for takeaway, we were told that a pizza box would cost $10 each and that paper bags would be free of charge. They didn’t even bothered packing it for us instead just handing us the bags to DIY. There was no pride or willingness to serve and the staff seem more interested in talking on their phones instead. That was disappointing given the price point.
Anyone interested in eating here - please do manage your expectations of the service and please be aware of...

When I first arrived in Hong Kong to join the fashion industry, we didn't really have much money. We were all fairly young with no parents around and none of us knew how to cook, except for your basic instant ramen.
The agency didn't provide us with enough allowance and at times, we were even tempted to finesse meals out of guys we didn't like. No shame, the struggle was real at the time. Thank goodness we found Paisano's!
The girls and I would come here pretty much daily for their cheap and filling pizza slices. When money was low, we even had to share a single slice between a couple of us. The service was always amazing and I think they started recognizing us and knew we were struggling financially. They started approaching us with leftover slices when we dropped by late in the night and sodas free-of-charge.
We rarely come to Paisano's anymore, but it's still very nostalgic every time...
