Read morewho wouldn’t give this restaurant a five-star. the services they provide are crazy.
first when you enter there is a playroom for children and a freaking free-manicure zone located near the entrance. you walk inside, you can see the servers who actually get the food ready and serve the food fully covered with hair masks, masks, gloves and gowns or whatever that make them look 100% hygienic. the only bare thing you can see is their eyes. it’s so freaking clean and organized inside. you order with a tablet pc so that you can add more food whenever you want and you can review what you ordered so that there’s almost zero possibility that you pay for things you didn’t order. beside the table there are wet wipes, hair tie (so that you won’t dip your hair in the hotpot) and mint candies provided. i’m crying.
what’s more crazy is that there is a woman working inside the bathroom, (supposedly a man in the men’s bathroom) who waits until you wash your hands and takes out the tissues for you to wipe your hands. even holds the door for you to come in/leave. there are floss, comb, wet wipes, hair ties inside the bathroom as well.
the food is fresh and good. honestly i’m so shook by the services they provided and it’s the sole reason why i’m writing a...
Read moreI am a frequent customer at Hai Di Lao outlets in Singapore and Malaysia and Hai Di Lao has always been a 100/10. The food is great and the customer service is even better. However, my experience at the Hong Kong Tsim Sha Tsui outlet was so far from the typical HDL standard.
Perhaps I am expecting too much, but the customer service here felt underwhelming. Firstly, the staff did not offer us drinks as they usually do, nor did they scoop the foam off my soup or serve it in my bowl.
We also decided to come here to celebrate my sister’s birthday. However, when the staff came over to sing her a birthday song, their energy levels felt extremely low. It felt like the customers around us were more enthusiastic about the birthday song than the staff.
The place was also played with Japanese and Korean music, which felt weird, especially since HDL is a Chinese establishment..
Regarding the food selection, I was really looking forward to trying the mala milk soup broth, but unfortunately, they did not have it here.
Overall, I was initially really excited to try HDL in Hong Kong but left disappointed by the service. I hope it can...
