Market Hotpot, located in H8, is one of the pioneer restaurants in HK that specializes in fish maw chicken pot. Today we visited for the second time for their signature menu.
◆Fish Maw Chicken Pot The two of us ordered half a chicken to share. The soup was rich and nourishing - one of the most intense we've had in HK. The chicken was pre-cooked to the right point with a fair amount of fat. Flavorful and tender meat. The fish maw became softened after boiling for while. Very satisfying pot.
◆Fish Cake ◆Ginger Pork Ball w/ Century Egg ◆Pork Belly ◆Bamboo Shoot ◆Lettuce The pork ball tasted extra ginger with melting filling. Fresh veggies. The crunchy texture and sweetness of bamboo shoot went really well with the chicken soup.

Read moreThis is another over hype restaurant. Their flag ship soup base of chicken and fish maw smells bad. The chicken skin is all dumped into a creamy soup with the yellow fats floating proudly on the surface. The bad smell is so over powering, despite the fact that I'm a lamb , beef and game meat person. It's a good thing that I only ordered their soup base with half a un chewable chicken, a beer and an additional tiny frog. Bill came to almost HK500 for 2 pax. Read morewe were here on weekday and the shop wasn't too full, so they allowed us to came in earlier and lengthen our dinning time; otherwise, 2 hours limitation. the signature chicken soup base was very thick, everyone must have a sip before dipping in anything. the order sheets separated into 6 and sometimes quite difficult to find what we need. overall the food was good. the place got noisier at later hour and all the sound got trapped inside, it's harder to listen and speak.
