Cerro Plano - Taty's bakery — Restaurant in Monteverde

Putting aside no friendly greeting when arriving, I ordered a cappuccino and my partner ordered a latte. (It was not busy at all) We are by no means “coffee snobs”- we have simply had plenty of good coffee as well as having been a barista and I will explain the offense… both drinks had zero foam. And perhaps worse, the milk was brought exceedingly over boiling point. this is obvious by a few factors to any barista- the sound when it’s heating up as well as how flipping hot it is when it’s poured - and thus no foam. My advice is please have someone making coffee who knows the difference between these basic drinks and/or at least knows not to BOIL milk. We ordered eggs and toast which were just basic. A few pastries as well and also nothing to scream about- if you actually like quality try STELLA’s - their baked goods are insanely good!

Dejando de lado la falta de un saludo amable al llegar, pedí un capuchino y mi pareja pidió un café con leche. No somos para nada "snobs del café", simplemente hemos tomado mucho café bueno además de haber sido baristas y explicaré el delito... ambas bebidas no tenían espuma. Y quizás peor, la leche se sirvió demasiado por encima del punto de ebullición. Esto es evidente por algunos factores para cualquier barista: el sonido cuando se está calentando y lo caliente que está cuando se vierte, y por lo tanto no hay espuma. Mi consejo es que por favor, contraten a alguien que prepare el café que sepa la diferencia entre estas bebidas básicas y/o al menos sepa que no se debe HERVIR la leche. We stopped for lunch here, we had 4 of the different filled pastries (empanada like) and while all very good the pastry become soggy as heated in microwave. Personally prefer to wait the extra 5min it would take to heat in an oven keeping the pasty fresh. The coffee was really good and we will be back for that.

NB: while there several local truck drivers stopped for their meal break and all ate the Costa Rican staple of chicken strip's with rice, beans and salad. If the locals come in #'s the food...

This place is criminal. I went to the other location for breakfast and they were great. This one, I’m positive they stole my wallet with $500 in it.
