One of my favorite views of Prague! Magical place! Took me many years to visit the majestic Old Town Bridge Tower, despite passing by quite frequently. Once I climbed the stairs to the rooftop, I was amazed and the views took my breath away! You get to see everything in front of you perfectly laid out - the Vltava river, Charles bridge, Petrin, Mala Strana and the majestic Prague castle - its pitch perfect! Once you visit this place, you will hardly find a better view of Prague. On the other side you will see the Old Town and the reason why Prague's nickname is the "city of a hundred spires". It surprises me that down below the tower are so many people and tourists, it's hard to pass though the bridge, but only few walk up the stairs to enjoy the panoramic views. The marvelous gothic tower has 3 floors - at the first one, only the ticket office is located, nothing else. Entrance fee of 150 CZK (approx. 6 EUR) seems reasonable and it's possible to pay by card. On the second floor a small exhibition is open to the public (in August 2022 it was about the Mystery of Seven Mascarons) with information available in Czech and English. On the third floor, respectively roof, the open observation platform is located offering amazing panoramic views of Prague (definitely want to visit during sunset time, it must be memorable). The path there is very narrow and it's almost impossible to bypass other tourists. Some metal boards are available to inform about major monuments and attractions around the city that are visible from up here. Entrance is from under the tower from the Charles Bridge via a very small door. If you are here, definitely make up time and visit this tower, it's worth every penny! Last visited in August 2022. Tip 1: Apparently there are commented tours available at 10 AM, 12 AM and 18 PM, unfortunately only in Czech language. Tip 2: There is a 50% discount on entry fee if you visit within the first hour of opening!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Old Town Bridge Tower in Prague, and I was absolutely blown away by its beauty and history. This iconic landmark is a must-see for anyone visiting the city. The tower is located at the entrance to the Charles Bridge, and it offers stunning views of the Vltava River and the Prague Castle. The interior of the tower is just as impressive, with its Gothic architecture and medieval artwork. I was particularly impressed by the tower's observation deck, which offers panoramic views of the city. I could see all the way to the Prague Castle and the Petrin Hill. The views were simply breathtaking. I would highly recommend a visit to the Old Town Bridge Tower. It is a truly unforgettable experience. Here are some of the highlights of my visit: * The tower is a beautiful example of Gothic architecture. * The views from the observation deck are simply breathtaking. * The tower is a great place to learn about the history of Prague. * The staff is friendly and helpful. I would give the Old Town Bridge Tower a 5-star rating. It is a must-see for anyone visiting Prague. Here are some additional tips for visiting the Old Town Bridge Tower: * The tower is open daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. * Tickets can be purchased online or at the ticket office. * The tower is wheelchair accessible. * There is a small cafe on the ground floor of the tower. I hope this review helps you plan your visit to the Old Town Bridge Tower.

This Old Town Bridge Tower is the massive Tower supposed to protect and guard the Charles bridge entrance. This tower is sitting right on the entry of the Charles Bridge and beside the Charles Bridge Museum. The best way get there is with a tram stop Karlovy Lázně or you can take a walk from the Wenceslas square and the walk takes you about ten to fifteen minutes get here. My tip. I personally like to take photographs of the tower from the Charles's bridge at earlier mornings. The closest way get to the tower is from the Tram Stop call m Karlovy Lázně. Then you just walk towards the stone bridge on the left hand. Then you walk further and you reach the Charles Bridge Museum and on the left is the Old Town Bridge Tower and the Charles Bridge. I am advising take the trips earlier morning when is less people and enjoy morning walk with incredible feelings around these places. The tower is massive and look through on the Charles Bridge is very nice view. The tower itself is incredible monument of the past represent all the centuries and make you small and think when standing and looking at the tower. Beside the tower is the Charles Bridge Muzeum also worth consider to visit. I think there is also shop where tourist can purchase ticket to cruise on the River Vltava.

At the end of Charles Bridge on each side is a bridge tower. On the Mala Strana side of the river, you can find the Lesser Town Bridge Tower. On the opposite side is the Old Town Bridge Tower, which is larger and somewhat and more impressive. The Old Town Bridge Tower was built in the late 14th century and made up part of the old city fortifications. You can climb the138 steps and find elevated views over the river and city, similar to the Powder Tower found on the other side of the Old Town. Interestingly, all were constructed by Peter Parler, the German architect credited with designing the the beautiful St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague Castle and St. Charles Bridge. We have always enjoyed stopping here to see the Old Town Bridge and the lovely statues nearby. Also, if you look upward while passing under the bridge archways, you can see some nice paintings. If you are lucky enough to see the Bridge Tower during a snowy day, it looks great, making for nice and stark contrast black and white photographs. In the end, it is easy to forget the Bridge Tower when you are visiting an attraction like Charles Bridge. Just make sure you stop for a few minutes and have a look/see at the lovely bridges found on both ends. They are impressive.

The Old Town Bridge Tower is one of the most beautiful Gothic gateways in the world. The tower, along with the Charles Bridge, was built by Emperor Charles IV according to designs by Petr Parléř in the mid-14 th century. The gate to the Old Town was also conceived as a symbolic victory arch through which Czech kings passed on their coronation processions. For an unforgettable view, visitors must climb 138 steps to the viewing gallery. It is worth the few Euros and the steep climb to ascend to the top of the tower and get beautiful views of the surrounding area. The climb is not bad at all (I'm 63) and is well worth it. I was amazed that there were only a few other people at the top. A must experience, 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
