Im eating here now 29/3/24 as I rate this restaurant, sitting at the top floor watching people pass by. The atmosphere is cozy and nice , the service not bad (lady seems relatively friendly enough) but the food is definitely mixed reviews for me.
Ordered the huge mixed grill for 2 for 890 czk- price is a lil expensive but my mum said it looked nice so why not try which we did- Steak was informed to be med but it came med well- well done sadly and chicken had a nice color was was a tad overcooked and dry, pork steak was nice though and I must rave bout the fries and side salad which was yummy- But I reiterate again the "stars" which was the meat was underwhelming...
Tried their house lemonade with raspberry 1 litre for 149 czk which tasted like raspberry water (feedback to the "manager" who said it was not lemonade but just their homemade raspberry syrup and water (shld use lemon juice or sprite at least, might have been better) well he gave me an extra glass of syrup to add to the diluted jug i bought which helped a bit.
Lastly, bought their Old Bohemian Plate with 3 types of pork for 329 czk well that was quite nice actually (decent portion and sauce was nice) and potato pancakes were yummy!
Finally have to do a side note: * There is a clause on the menu that states : Service charge 10%, of course of you were satisfied. Lol that being said tbh i wasnt fully satisfied and when I gave the feedback to the "manager" and the server they kind of laughed it off and said something in Czech and nope no apology which is disappointing esp when I spent so much. So basically ur obligated to tip for a far from perfect experience which is disappointing esp after spending 1500czk on a meal for 2.
Will i b back? Maybe for the fries, potato pancakes and salad and that Old Bohemian plate but not running back anytime soon.
Must try: Fries, Potato pancakes that comes with old bohemian plate, side salad that comes with mixed grill
Dont bother trying: Raspberry lemonade (get a beer instead its cheaper and honestly how bad can a beer get?) Grilled mix - Unless they improve the temperature on the steaks and the...
Read more1st general star for location, its jot far away from Castle 2nd star for atmosphere, really good interior with its own vibe 3rd star for speed of the waitress and kitchen.
For 1 Plzen, 1 Kozel, 1 Goulash in bread and one plate of sausages we payed 475 (43.20 are included tips)
2 stars for food: we had beer, goulash in bread and starter sausages. Beer was tasty (beer as beer, nothing special), starter sausages were really tasty but the goulash was a big disappointment. It was flavourless, a few tiny tiny parts of meat and A LOT of bread meat in the soup itself. 3 starts for service: tips for service are included already. But no idea for what actually. Yes, kitchen was fast its a plus and biggest thanks, but the waitress wasn't a...
Read moreThe prices are high for these portions. Nice interior space, outside it's also nice and cozy. The food...goulash soup was nice, but the portion was really small and the bread was hilariously small. As for main dish, we ordered mix of fried cheese, they were tasty but the portion was little as well and the potatoes were DISASTROUS. The taste of them was absolutely horrifying. And the tartar sauce was just mayonnaise. Also, the service was nice but bit annoyed with our lack of quick decidement. This is totally understandable, yet it is something to work on. Also, it's not very nice to include 10% tip in the bill without previously informing about it or asking. We would tip anyway, but we don't like being...
