This is, on the surface, a smaller hidden korean bbq and hot pot (shabu shabu) place. Nestled beyond a tiny private courtyard with four or five tables, the first room houses 3 tables all equipped with hot plates and grills. Downstairs however is a hidden korean bbq oasis amidst the old style prague bricks and cooling basement interiors must be dozens of hot pot and bbq tables - you could probably host a smaller wedding here. Genuinely impressed. The staff is very attentive and professional and the pricing is on the higher side for prague but the quality and work that goes into your experience truly justifies it. When I visited I did not book a table - however I also came on a Tuesday afternoon. I had shabu shabu and the sides supplied with the meal are plentiful. The pricing for additional sides is also palatable. The broth was delicious and we had it topped up several times. The vegetables especially were of fantastic quality, with the highlight definitely being the vast array of mushrooms. The beef cuts were also very nice - not too thin so they dissolve in the warm broth, and not too thick or too fatty. Each table also has buttons for temperature adjustments for your broth or grill. If you want to have a nice korean style lunch or dinner, this place is not a bad choice. If you're going during higher demand times such as lunch or dinner, I'd recommend booking a table.
I can personally recommend the korean peach tea. It is lovely and I like...
Read moreSince we didn't have hotpot to judge its taste on it but from my experience of this restaurant was not what the name of the restaurant was saying. I do not recommend this place to anyone who is looking for authentic Korean food.
Red flag 1: As we walked into the restaurant, we were greet by an Asian girl who did not speak Korean. Red flag 2: we were guided to walk down the stairs for a table. As we sat on the table, we noticed that all the workers were not Korean but instead they seemed to speak Vietnamese. Red flag 3: we only had an hour and 15 minutes before we had to leave so we ordered kimchi stew without meat (김치찌개) and bibimbap (비빔밥). Kimchi jjigae did not come with rice so rice was an extra charge. However later one of the waiter came back and told me that as per restaurant policy, we HAVE to order a hotpot. (But this was resolved after talking to the chef)
Food review: bibimbap came with chojang (초장). Overall taste of bibimbap was average 2/5. Kimchi jjigae (김치찌개) came out in some metal pot and not in traditional dish (뚝배기). It had 3 cubes of pork in it so I couldn't share it with my girlfriend since she is a vegetarian. The pork cubes were very lean and did not give any flavor to the stew. The taste of the stew was as if they just poured kimchi sauce onto water and served it. Side of kimchi was below average and the salad was bitter. I would just avoid this restaurant if you are looking for authentic...
Read moreFirst time visiting this kind of restaurant so take this review with a grain of salt. We had quite a hard time figuring out how the menue worked and that cost us quite a lot of time, apparently you need to pick a main dish (which has a whole page of its own) and then two options from the options below it (or however much it specifies), we fought through and managed to order, we got a shabu shabu which we had no idea what it was up until that point (funny i know), it had a very large variety of vegetables, a few sides (salad and kimchi), a dish with noodles that you can cook and two plates with frozen (unfortunate) thinly sliced beef to cook in the broth. The broths were absolutely amazing (there was a pot separated in the middle with one side having a spicy version and the other a non-spicy version), very flavorful and we had a great time cooking stuff in it and experimenting with different cooking times and combination. The place itself is clean to an impressive degree, and the waitress was very very nice and patient with us even though it took us quite a long time to figure the menu out. I cant give it 5 stars just because the meat was frozen unfortunately and i felt it. But it was a very fun new experience and we enjoyed it very much nonetheless. TLDR: come give it a visit if you are in the area and want a cool experience which is quite...
