Hotel in the heart of Prague. Most tourist attractions in walking distance. The room was amazing and well cleaned. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. I travelled with my toddler and they stored my buggy away so I didn’t have to keep taking it up to my room. I was on the third floor but there was a beautifully maintained lift to take you up and down. Security was great as can’t access any of the corridors to rooms without a card key. Room was cleaned daily and towels changed. Towels, shower gel, hair products and lotion provided. Shower was powerful, bath deep and water hot. Unfortunately no view from room due to location and most building being close together. Nepresso coffee machine provided which you can buy the pods at reception however I bought at supermarket. A variety of tea given but not enough milk.teapot, cups and glasses provided and clean. The only issue I had with the room was my fridge was missing from the cupboard so couldn’t store water. My mums room had a fridge but it was constantly warm so couldn’t be used. Also tv had screen share function however it was disabled which was a shame as we couldn’t watch anything as only one English speaking channel which was the news. If they fix those two problem the room rating would be 5*. I would definitely stay here again felt like luxury for a reasonable price.

I was highly disappointed with my recent stay, especially considering I paid €2100 for two rooms for four nights. Room Size: The rooms are significantly smaller than depicted in the pictures, which felt misleading. Breakfast Experience: The breakfast was far below expectations. The food lacked flavor, and many vegetables seemed to be leftovers from previous days. The variety of options was limited, and even the food served was cold. To make matters worse, the hot water provided for tea was not actually hot. Staff: The staff appeared to be inexperienced students who struggled to understand or accommodate guest requests. Room Issues: One of our rooms had a persistent, strange noise—most likely from the air conditioning—which disrupted my sleep after 4 AM. The bathroom in my room had a drainage issue; the water in the sink drained so slowly that it remained stagnant for a long time, which was both unhygienic and unpleasant.

What a great hotel to stay at! I recently stayed here for 3 nights as a female solo traveller around Prague and I really loved this hotel. The staff were super friendly and nice and the location was great, as I felt completely safe walking around by myself at night between my various activities. This has a great central location in Old Town to see all the major tourist spots without it being too loud from night life at night. My bed was very firm, but that is personal preference, and the overall ambience of the hotel was very charming. The key cards were easy to use to access the elevator and rooms and the rooms and bathroom were very clean and plenty of space. I really enjoyed staying here and will definitely book here in the future. You even get complimentary champagne when you check in!

19 Oct 2025. I still haven't received my money from when YOU cancelled my reservation. I see that a major cruise line is staying at a different Prague hotel for a trip extension. Maybe it's because I told them this hotel was stealing my money. Maybe they just think other hotels are better.

3 June 2025. I still haven't received my pre-paid deposit from when you cancelled my non-cancellable reservation. Do you and all of Axxos Hotels hate Americans or do you just think Americans are easy targets because we may not come back to Prague to recoup money you stole from them?

6 March 2025. There are now at least three people who are not staying at the Dominican hotel because, basically, they cannot trust the management. I think my situation had something to do with that. Someone else is taking their business to another hotel. There are more rooms that the Dominican didn't get because they cancelled my reservation and didn't return my money than the four nights in my case. Think about it - if there was a fire and the hotel cancelled your reservation, would you want your deposit back? Are you sure they would give you your deposit back? If you can't trust the hotel, why stay there?

21 June 2024. Is the hotel still in business? If so, I’m surprised that people would stay there knowing that the hotel could lie and steal your money. I’m surprised that people would be ok with that. If they can do it to me, they can do it to you.

6 April 2024. I have an email from the hotel saying "We can confirm cancelation of your reservation and we will refund the deposit. You need to find other alternative hotel." 20 days later, they said "I spoke with the CEO of the hotel and unfortunately, we are not able to refund your money back." I have those emails. Does anyone really want to stay at The Dominican Hotel or any Axxos hotel knowing how they could try to steal your money too?

16 March 2024. I would never pre-pay a reservation at this hotel. They may cancel your reservation and keep your money.

20 February 2024. Have you decided to return my money yet? You cancelled the reservation for a legitimate reason and promised to return my money. But still, it was you that cancelled it, not me. Yet, after 3 years, I still haven't gotten my money. You say I am welcome the next time in Prague which is absolutely no help as I don't know if I will ever get back there, much as I loved everything about my trip except your hotel.

20 April - I talked with a family friend who, along with others in the family, are going to Prague. After hearing my story about the hotel cancelling my reservation yet not returning my money, they decided that they would not reserve the two rooms at the Dominican because they can't trust you, but would find another great hotel in Prague.

So when are you going to return my money?

13 March - I wonder if you have decided to return my money. You lied to me, saying that you would return my deposit after YOU cancelled my reservation. And now you’re trying to steal my money. Two people have already told me they won’t stay at your hotel because they don’t trust you and don’t want you to steal their money. So when will you return my money?

You want to clarify the situation? You cancelled my pre-paid reservation and told me you would refund my money. That proved to be a lie. I was already in Prague so I couldn't change my trip to take you up on your pathetic offer to use the credit at a later date. So, you lied to me and then decided to keep my money. You're stealing my money.

Now that you're probably doing year-end financial reports, into what bucket are you putting the money you stole from me - into a category for "Money stolen from customers"?

I can't believe anyone would ever pre-pay for a reservation at your hotel. So, if you cancel someone's reservation for a fire or mold or disease - clearly not their fault - you'll still keep their money because the rate is non-cancellable though you cancelled it.

So many better places to stay in Prague. When will you...

So one of the things I loved about Prague was how great its old town is…and The Dominican is really in step with that. First of all, the name…the hotel used to be the home of Dominican monks and dates back to the 13th century…and building really retains much of that character. I stayed in an attic room…which I considered amazing. It was really something seeing all those old wooden beams and thinking, "This room is likely 700+ years old." My room was super clean (and I am picky about this) and had all the modern amenities…though, if I could offer up one suggestion, it'd be to add a little fridge to keep drinks cold (the staff gladly accommodated my "cold drinks" request with a bucket of ice…which worked fine for me). The hotel is really close to Charles Bridge and the Astronomical clock…and practically next door to Prague's Beer Museum. There are tons of restaurants nearby…and it's a very short Metro ride to the main train station (just two stops). I opted for breakfast on a busy day and have to say I left quite satisfied. If I revisit Prague again (and I really want to, it's just so nice a place), I would gladly rebook at The Dominican. Super quaint, super near everything, very clean, comfy, good breakfast. Only two bits of advice I would give…it can be a little tricky to find at night…at least it was for me…but this is the nature of the old town. Also, if you do get an attic room (like the one I had), you do have to be a bit mindful of those wooden roof beams. They are really cool, but it can be easy to do a head ding if you're not careful. I mean, I really loved them…they just added to the overall late medieval character of the building…it really felt like stepping back in time…but if you're six feet tall (like me), you do have to be mindful of them. But honestly, I cannot say enough nice things about The Dominican overall…just...

This hotel is bang in the square surrounded by bars and restaurants everywhere and the clock tower is literally around the corner. |The hotel is about a 30-45 mins ride from the airport by uber/bolt taxi, you can download apps or do in airport… we did try by bus but couldn’t figure the area we needed to be. |Check in was after 3pm, we received a glass of fizz which was delightful and shown to our rooms. |Our room 203 was so much more than we imagined it would be, it was delightful, spacious, I would even go as far as saying grand, we had some steps when entering the room with a wardrobe at the top and then straight into the bedroom with a massive bed, and where some people may say it’s dated, I personally thought it as characteristic as we didn’t want clinical. |The fridges apparently had been removed from each room, but you could still get drinks or items from reception if required. |When we went down for breakfast between 7:30-10:30 there was so much choice we didn’t know where to start, I personally was only expecting a continental breakfast but there were bacon, eggs, sausages, and so much more items to choose from… pancakes, porridge, cold meats n cheeses, cakes and small pastries, a breakfast that sets you up for the full day of exploring a beautiful city. |This was my first European city break and I’m so glad I choose Prague as the buildings, pubs, bridges etc… were all breathtaking, tv documentaries and shows don’t really do them justice, from the weird wild and wonderful to bold, bright and beautiful,...
