On our wonderful 8-days-trip to Czech Republic we (couple, 50 years old, two children at age of 14/16) spent the last four days in Prague. When checking in at the hotel around 9 p.m. we noticed that we have got the wrong room (1 king-size bed and 1 sofa bed instead of (explicitly booked and already paid) room with 1 king-size bed and a separate room with 2 single beds), so we informed the reception desk. The stuff was very friendly and although not being able to offer us the correct room for the first night already, we were able to switch room early next morning and got free breakfast as compensation. The breakfast was very good and rich (bread, bread rolls, toast, scrambled and boiled eggs, classical cold cuts, grilled vegetables and sausages, fruit, yogurt, cake, coffee, hot chocolate, juices, cereals, etc.). Therefore we decided to choose the breakfast option also on our final day before check-out. BTW, the area, where breakfast was served (until 11 a.m.), belongs to "Fat Cat Burgers & Craft Beer", which made a nice impression and was well-visited past noon. The rooms and bath were clean and although the rooms and the inventory might need a little refreshment on the one hand, the old windows and carpet fit to the historic center, where the hotel is located on the other hand. The location itself was ideal for starting tours to the old town by foot and enjoying night life. Next tram stop was appr. a 7-minutes-walk away, next metro stop appr. 10 minutes away. The room with the king size bed contained a LED-TV and was orientated to pedestrian street, but although night life just happens a few feet away, the old windows (two windows in a row) filter much of the noise. The other room with the two single beds was very calm and located between the formerly mentioned room and the hallway. Its windows were orientated to hallway and could not be regularly opened, which made airing this room out a little bit difficult. Each apartment contains its own WLAN-router, which had to plug in on our own as noticed on arrival, but then we had perfect signal and fast internet access.A tip for those arriving by car: You cannot reach the hotel by car, because it is located in a pedestrian zone consisting of many pubs and bistros with outdoor seating. Finding a parking slot nearby is not easy, due to most part of the surrounding streets are reserved for residential parking only and you either have to pay the parking slot by app (virtual parking ticket machine only) or choose a slot in more distant streets where you can also buy a ticket at a physical parking ticket machine. Therefore I dropped my wife and children as near as possible to the hotel (2-minutes-walk) and parked our car in one of the suburban P+R-areas - I chose "P+R Skalka II" with contains a camera system and costs 50 CZK for the first 24hours and then 10 CZK per hour, which is (in June 2025), which is very cheap compared to parking your car in one of the central car parks). Conclusion: A very nice place with friendly stuff and a good breakfast. If you do not mind walking a little bit with your luggage and if you like enjoying city/night life in Prague, this hotel is a very good option. I would always recommend this hotel for those who are a...
Read moreHotel Palác U Kočků By Adrez Living is right down in Old Town Prague, so much so that our Uber driver wasn't sure we had arrived (amidst a holiday crowd on the streets). He just pointed to his phone showing us that as far as he knew we were where we wanted to go. Luckily I saw the sign for the hotel (no marquee but I'm sure that's because there are no marquees on those narrow streets) and we got out and went into the lobby. We got sorted around right away and checked in then walked the 5 minutes to the Astronomical Clock in the Old Town Square and just like that we were experiencing Prague. ||The rooms are clean and modern, and of a 'European' size, in other words not huge but with all the amenities you could need. The hotel shares the main floor with a restaurant/bar so if you are looking for a quiet retreat this might not be the place for you but after hours it's fine and as quiet as rooms in the centre of a major city are going to get. ||The hotel is an easy walk to everywhere downtown, the Charles Bridge is about 10 minutes, Wenceslas Square is about 20 minutes and of course the Old Town Square is right there. Walk across the Charles Bridge and you can ascend to Prague Caste (beware the name, it is a 'complex' not an actual castle per se). That walk is about an hour and uphill but great. ||The breakfast (included) was wonderful, everything you could want and you could sit outside and watch the passersby while you had your meal or just sipped a coffee. | |Caveat: There are two sides to the hotel and only one side has an elevator, the other does not. Considering there are 4 stories above the main floor this is worth noting and, if possible, requesting in advance. ||The front desk was very helpful and always manned. Someone always spoke enough English to get us through. ||A last word, this hotel was exactly what we wanted, comfortable and situated in Old Town, allowing us to truly experience this amazing city. I would call it a 'boutique' hotel and therefore not for the 'middle of the road' North American traveller but if you really want to experience Prague I...
Read moreSpacious room for two, clean. Nice bathroom. There is no hotel telephone to the front desk, no wake up calls, no drinking water in the room, really not much interaction with the staff. No extra bed cot for a third or fourth person (though the space could fit them). They do come by every day and clean the bathroom and make the bed, but they won’t change the sheets until you leave. And they’ll only replace towels that you leave on the floor—totally reasonable.
There is a bar restaurant downstairs that is very popular with the locals called Fat Cats. The bartender would fill my water bottles. Food is 10% off for hotel guests, and have a really nice breakfast buffet. Lots of little convenient stores around. It’s a tourist part of town so lot of the same souvenir shops and ice cream shops everywhere. Restaurants are great in this area. I found a lot to do within a 30 minute walking radius.
Rooms have a double window, but you’ll still hear crowds in the bars nearby late into the night, it’s a lively nightclubbing area. If you’re a light sleeper, and a complainer, you might want to request the top floor, so there’s a little bit of distance away from the noise. Also, if you’re a complainer, something is wrong with you. Don’t try to normalize it.
I visited in June, and the weather was great. Never needed a heater or air conditioning, I could keep the window open or closed. Outside, I only needed a light jacket after sunset.
For some reason I had a hard time finding the hotel when I first arrived, but I think I had just not plugged in the address correctly for the driver. The correct address is Jilska 9, Prague, CZ

Also, I used the car service Bolt. They were very reliable. Parts of old Prague town are a walking only area, so the car service will not take you to the hotel entrance. But they will drop you off and pick you up on the opposite side of the same building (address):
Husova 157/18
If I come back to Prague, I’ll use this same hotel. It fits my budget. If you want to be more pampered by a hotel, find...
