A kdo ví? Možná i vás inspiruje k revolučním myšlenkám, stejně jako inspirovala naše předky...

An important historical landmark in Prague Old Town This was the site of a large chapel from the High Middle Ages were the gospel was to be preached in Czech. Jan Hus preached from here and it was here that the burgeoning Hussite movement began to take root in the Czech lands. After the burning of Hus by the emperor and the Hussite Wars, the chapel continued to be used by the Hussites, until the Thirty Years War, when it was taken over by the Jesuits. It subsequently fell into disrepair and was allowed to be demolished, but it was reconstructed under the Communists, who saw Hus as an early champion of the proletariat. The hall has been well reconstructed and there are guides and interpretative materials to allow one to see the importance of this hall in the history of Prague and the...

Unless you are fan of the czeck history this place is not a great attraction. Basically you will need to pay money for them to allow you to get inside the chapel which is a huge square with tons of chairs. Nothing compared to a regular church or real chapel. They lend you a piece of paper that describes each one of the four walls of the chapel. The texts you will read are something like ‘the North side wall has 1 big window and 2 small windows and a drawing’ which to us was not very interesting. We were in and out in few minutes with a few czk less... now, if you are familiar with czeck history then you may be able to appreciate the place a...

Visiting Bethlehem Chapel and learning more about the life of John Hus was a really rewarding experience and memorable piece of my trip to the Czech Republic. In addition to viewing the sanctuary area, you can also go upstairs to see his old office/living quarters, and learn more about the church's history and his impact on modern-day Christianity. Definitely worth the visit if you're in the area!
