A total tourist trap!!
We regret visiting this restaurant without reading other reviews cause we would have enjoyed our dinner else where way better. Our server was clearly new and she had to come back and forth between our table and the kitchen to confirm several things as we wanted to make sure we wouldn’t be scammed. We ordered two dishes and asked her if the dishes come with any bread (houskovy knedlik) or what they call “dumplings”. Again she had to check with the kitchen, came back and said the bread would be included within the dishes. Later on, she put down extra bread and sauces on the table so we told her we didn’t order and won’t need them. She said, just sitting down at the table costs 20 czk no matter what you eat or drink and you have to pay for it otherwise the restaurant would deduct it from her paycheque. We were very dismayed at the fact that there are hidden fees and the restaurant makes their servers pay for it if customers don’t. When we got our bill, there were separate charges and we were told that the bread on our plates wasn’t part of the dishes!! I asked to speak to the manager and he explained that it was written “bread is recommended” on the menu which means not included. I knew it hence I asked our server to clarify it multiple times and she confirmed it was included! Then the server went back on her words and said “it was included because YOU wanted the bread but it was a separate side dish”. The manager said I should have READ THE MENU, NOT LISTEN TO THE SERVER because she’s new. I couldn’t believe the manager’s attitude and unprofessionalism. We refused to pay for the bread that we DID NOT ORDER and were told it was included. The server took the cash out of her own purse to cover the bread portion and the manager walked away. We paid for our bill and tipped her 110 czk (bread portion in cash given by her) cause she’s “new”. Then she apologized to us and said it was the...
Read moreThe most worst service what I was had in my entire life. That a literally robber waiters, who include to your bill for “laying the table” 50 krona’s per person, which in reality mean just give you a couple pieces of bread (for example to fried cheese -lol, what??). And then when you asking for bill, they “inform” you that payment terminal is not working right now. Before I start writing this opinion I seen couple the same comment (right, my bad I didn’t check that before, but we wasn’t have time). So here a tables was turned and I said that since we were not warned that the terminal was not working, it turns out that we ate for free. She apologized again in Russian and said she couldn't do anything with that. So I suggested that she bring the terminal and try to make a transaction. And voila, the transaction was successful. And so cleverly that she also had the nerve to add 130 kronor to her tip. Which was out of the discussion. I noticed it on the transaction confirmation and started arguing with her that I didn't saying I wanted to give her a tip. She tried to convince me that a normal thing here, but I've worked in many cafes and restaurants -surprise! And after asking to call the manager, it turned out that she could return them. This person stuck to her lie to the end. It happened today, just an hour ago. Maybe Czech tax service and migration police should visit that place? I think I will find time...
Read moreWe came for dinner and the location to sit outside on the plaza is really nice. Beside that the waiter asked us to sit in the beergarden instead of the plaza, she was very nice and polite. Guess she did not want to walk the 50m from the restaurant to the plaza area... Anyways, the goulash soup was good, but too cold. My wife had stuffed dumplings with red and white cabbage. The dumplings felt like not being fresh, since they were dry from the outside. The white cabbage was too sweet, the red cabbage had too much cinnamon inside and the foot was cold. I had some pork with variety of dumplings and white cabbage. I liked it, but it was cold as well. The best part comes now: When paying, we had some interesting items on our bill. First I had to pay extra for my variety of dumplings. Ok, well, I could have known, since they are priced extra on the very last page of the menu (u have to turn it around to see it)! But there was as well an item called (cuvert). Since my wife knows check, she asked what it is for and the owner of the restaurant explained that it was for thr knife, fork, spoon, napkin, bread (which we did not order), ketchup (which we did not use), tooth pick (which we did not use), etc.! After a long discussion, the owner just told the waiter, agh, remove it. Imagine, you have to pay 20 Czech corona to get a knife and fork for each person. That is bull shutting....
