If there was an option to give negative stars, this place would earn them. Unfortunately, I’m forced to give one.
Near Petrin Tower, choices are scarce – a couple of cafes in total – so after climbing what feels like a small mountain of stairs, you naturally want a coffee or some refreshment. I stopped here for an ice cream and a room-temperature bottle of water. The lady at the ice cream counter at least made an effort to understand some English. The one at the main counter? Not interested. Whether it was a language barrier or pure unwillingness, she reacted with visible anger when spoken to in English. The water was practically shoved at me with the enthusiasm of someone throwing a frisbee.
It’s a shame because this is a simple business in a prime tourist spot. A smile and basic courtesy would be enough. Instead, it felt like the staff were carrying some personal grudge against visitors. One can only hope things improve for them in life so that they don’t have to take it out on paying customers.
A quick look at the owner’s responses to other reviews confirms what I suspected – criticism is met with rudeness rather than reflection. So instead of expecting change, I’ll leave this as an appeal to others: skip this place if you value even basic politeness. Petrin Tower is lovely; your money and mood are better...
Read moreI've probably never had worse coffee. the lady ignored us while we waited at the cash register, preferring to look at her mobile phone. We were served by the next one who came. Their often passive-aggressive response to reviews also speaks for itself.
Edit for owners response : We weren't indecisive. We always pick the same coffee. We were looking several minutes at Lady that ignored us and watched her phone instead. There was no one else at the couter. Also... I mentioned you passive-aggresive response to negative reviews and you didn't dissappoint... clearly you can't take criticism, hence you will not improve... And there's no need for trying your bistro ever again....

Normally syrup is served with all pancakes as standard. Also, pancakes were refrigerated and toasted/warmed, not fresh. Iced coffee was below average...
