Lokanta Praha Restaurant — Restaurant in Prague

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE GOOD REVIEWS. My fiancé and I came here because we love Turkish food and it had great reviews. The red flag should have been that the staff was standing outside the restaurant almost as if trying to lure people in. My fiancé had what looked like shredded lamb and I had the Turkish meatballs. The shredded lamb tasted like it was old meat doused in oil and the meatballs had absolutely no flavor and also tasted like they were cooked in oil, we asked for Cajik in order to have some for of flavor added to the dish. We ate it because we did not want to be rude and had already committed to eating it, we asked if we could have it for take away and unfortunately they did not have to-go boxes, they also did not have half of the menu or starters on hand which should have also been a sign for us to leave. We ended up eating the food which was the WORST MISTAKE because I have now had food poisoning that has been persistent for the past 3 days. I am afraid due to being in a foreign country and I still have several days left on my vacation, However this persistent diarrhea and stomach ache is a HUGE cause for concern. We visited this restaurant a week ago as a group of 5, hoping to get a taste of Turkish Mediterranean cuisine, with mostly hot and cold starters accompanied with the famous Raki (the Turks’ favourite alcohol). There was one cook , a nice young guy, and one waitress, a nice young lady. Right away we were informed that they were out of 3/4 of the menu on a Friday evening. Its not our first time with the Turkish food experience so we asked what type of cheese and olives they had and the waitress told us that it is the most common ones from Albert the supermarket. We ordered two types of cold starters (the only ones they had) and some olives and cheese and raki; the greek salad never came… the glasses had stains on them, the waitress was hardly around so sometimes we just took our own glasses from the kitchen… We paid 2800kc (€120) for all of this, which I believe is extremely undeserved. I visited this restaurant yesterday and I really want to leave a positive review because everything was so great. Even though we were a big (and probably noisy) group (approx 20 ppl) we have always been treated with courtesy, the food was delicious, the portions were big and surprisingly we even received a few complimentary cold starters that we all appreciated a lot. We also had the possibility to put our own music on YouTube, which was projected on the wall, so after dinner we stayed a little longer to enjoy the music all together. Our waiter was extremely kind and caring, always attentive and very friendly. It is rare to find such a great service these days, I will for sure come back and knowing that there is this beautiful floor downstairs where you can fit 20/30ppl, I will definitely consider it when booking for a big group which is always kind of tricky.
