I rarely leave bad reviews, but our visit to this restaurant was truly disappointing. From the moment we arrived, two staff members were loudly arguing in the dining area — not in the kitchen or back office, but right out where all the customers could hear. Their arguments continued for most of our time there, making it incredibly uncomfortable and unpleasant to sit through what was supposed to be a nice meal. There were only 2 staff members working that we could see and it was mainly the man with the long hair behind the bar giving out to the girl who was looking after all the tables as he chugged beer behind the bar.
On top of that, the service was painfully slow. We waited an unreasonably long time for both food and drinks, and when the food did arrive, it wasn’t worth the wait. Pasta was terrible, the other meals including chicken wings and a chicken burger were just okay.
The worst part, however, was the man’s attitude. At the end of the meal, we chose not to leave a tip due to the poor service and unprofessional environment. Instead of accepting this silently and moving on, our server confronted us — actually scolded us — and asked if any of us had ever had jobs before, implying we didn’t understand how tipping works. It was shockingly rude and incredibly unprofessional, and when we replied saying we only tip when there’s good service, he replied “oh so we’re going to do this then”.
Restaurants should be a place where people can relax and enjoy themselves, and as someone who has worked on the restaurant industry for over 3 years I would never expect a tip or worse yet fight with someone for not giving me one. This experience was the opposite of that. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend it...
Read moreMyself and my girl friends came here today for lunch, on arrival the place seemed like a nice vibe, we sat ourselves down with the direction of the man behind the bar. After waiting several minutes for menus to be delivered we went up to go and get them ourselves to save the already stressed waitress from further pressure. After this our experience went downhill here from there, the bartender and the waitresses were fighting the whole time we were there, with him giving out to her out infront of customers, rolling his eyes behind her back and giving out about her while she wasn’t even in the room, and doing all this infront of customers !!! It was horrible to watch and truly made our experience incredibly uncomfortable, on top of this while this already stressed waitress was running around looking after all the tables, the man behind the bar was chugging beer refusing to help her and scolding her instead. On top of this already uncomfortable experience our food took over 40 minutes to come with the food being bland and tasteless. To make matters worse when we decided we had enough and went to pay the bill, the bartender asked us for a tip, when we decided not to he turned to us and ask “have you ever worked a day in your life” with all of us having worked in the service industry we were truly shocked and appalled that someone would make such a comment, I would definitely not recommend coming to this place as it was a truly horrible experience and would not wish for anyone to...
Read moreWhat a great time my large group of 11 friends had at Original Glenn's on our first night in Prague! Lively atmosphere right in the heart of Mala Strana. We spent our whole evening partaking in the experience of the venue's 3 levels. First enjoying the variety of food and drinks at the upstairs restaurant & bar (both indoor and outdoor seating) - the wings platter, tortilla chips with guacamole, and grilled peppers as appetizers, and various Czech and Tex-Mex entrees were all fresh and delicious. And so many drink offerings (shout out to the Mai Tais!) But an excellent dinner was only the beginning...when you visit, be sure to venture down one flight to the cocktail lounge (with a unique cave-like stone ceiling)--you'll find private booths and mood lighting, creating a cool vibe where you can enjoy your next round. Afterwards, continue one more level down to find the hidden gem of a cozy performance space with table service and live music in an intimate setting-- on the night we visited, an excellent Czech trio played to a captive audience -- a fantastic way to round off the night. There are so many choices in Prague; but we highly recommend taking the opportunity to experience OG Original Glenn's - you will be SO...
