Restaurace Orlík is a charming, authentic spot right by the Vltava River, just a stone’s throw from the famous Dancing House. Despite its central and touristic location, it has managed to keep a very local atmosphere. The place is often buzzing with regulars and locals, which gives it a down-to-earth, genuine vibe you don’t always find in this part of Prague.
Inside, finding a free table can be tricky — it’s a popular spot, especially during peak hours. Luckily, there’s always the option to grab a beer and enjoy it outside, even if you end up standing. We were fortunate enough to get a perfect outdoor table on a sunny day, and the whole experience felt relaxed and effortlessly enjoyable.
The prices are fair considering the location. It’s not overpriced or trying to scam tourists — quite the opposite. The staff were friendly and quick, and everything felt straightforward and honest. They did charge a 20 CZK cover fee, but that included a basket of fresh bread, and since we were sitting outside, it made sense and didn’t feel excessive.
All in all, Restaurace Orlík is the kind of place you’ll want to return to — a rare mix of local character, riverside charm, and a no-nonsense approach to food and drink. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick beer or settling in for a longer meal, it’s an easy recommendation. We’ll...
Read moreI stumbled upon this restaurant as I needed to kill an hour before going to my Airbnb and I am glad I did so
I've had the pork knuckle and two beers and I must say the knuckle was absolutely perfect: excellent taste, great seasoning and big as heck ... It was better than any such dish I've had in Poland for three months and I've had it quite often since it's one of my favorite dishes
The place is rather small but it does benefit from the fact that it doesn't draw all the tourists in the center so it's quieter
Waiter is a real professional, he manned all the tables in the place, really good at his job, I was quite impressed... Speaks good English too. Offered me some complimentary cheese thing with bread while my knuckle was cooking, nice touch!
I will probably go back since prices are also great, had expected Prague to be a tourist trap in its entirety, pleasantly surprised that on my first day I found...
Read moreThis was absolute delicious food and the perfect last, and best Dinner we had in Prague! It started with a full basket of various bread and selfmade delicious buns as well, aside a selfmade tasty garlic cream. Then we had a sort of coleslaw, with horseradish, but not a few, a HUGE amount of horseradish. So just order it if you like it REALLY hot. 😉 aside that we tried a specialty with beetroot, very delicious too, but then came the main course...OMG.... Porkfilet, wrapped with bacon in plum sauce, THAT was amazing!!! The other one was a special sausage, with again hot stuff aside. 😉 And on top of that, it's even not expensive, for all of that, plus 2 half litres of bear, only 30€ !! What a lucky, spontaneous discovery, we definitely will come back! Thank you very much for this...
