Hotel Atos is situated away from Prague Old Town which is a good advantage for those tourists who want a peaceful night. The place is lovely with a touch of old design and settings. However, tourist with heavy luggages will have a difficulty pulling their luggages in as the entrance doesn't have a ramp. - not a PWD friendly.
Staffs were accommodating to us however, one of their Dining/Kitchen staffs seems awkward to us as she looks grumpy and dettached. This could be because it's because of the color of our skins since we're the only non-white there eating breaky. She walked pass at us without getting our used diningwares while neighbor's plates were taken even if they weren't finished eating. There was also an incident happened the next day, same person, wherein she scolded a young tourist lady in front of everyone in the dining where she left her toasts and got burnt. (The toaster isn't automatic). A language barrier could be the opportunity here since there's already a post, both in English and German, on the wall but this doesn't mean you can shame her in front of others.
Other opportunities we've seen were: The carpet smells like old and musky; their elevator, maybe the design is the reason it moves like that; the AC/Fan control switch which their humdity control was centralized; and thr toilet has no bidet; Power outlet kinda old and loose that our Travel Adapter always disconnects or having a firm grip to it.
Nevertheless, we had a good night staying at the hotel: The room was big, for 3 persons, and spacious; 3 chairs were available and a couch perfect to lay down your whole body to stretch with. Although, the Master bed was just a combined 2 Single beds.
Overall, the place is best if you're going to visit Petrin Tower, Prague Castle, Lenon Wall, and bridges such as Charles bridge coz' they're all near the hotel. Also it is highly preferred for tourists who are night owls or bar-hoppers as there are many bars within...
Read moreIn all my years of travelling, I have not encountered such kind and accommodating staff. We had an early flight upon leaving and they made us breakfast packages rather than letting us fend four ourselves. Not even 5 Star hotels thought to do this for their guests. They also kept my computer safe in their office.
Hotel breakfast was also beyond anything I experienced in a 3 Star hotel. Not only did they have the usual rolls, jams, and spreads, they had different kinds of eggs, meat, salads, fruit, and a variety of hot and cold drinks.
The room I stayed in was clean and spacious and the bathroom was larger than what I experienced, especially in Europe.
The Hotel was also a short walking distance from the city centre and (I do not recommend it if you have a lot of luggage), it is possible to get to the hotel via transit from the airport. You would need to take a bus, a subway train, and a tram. People on the street are not as nice to tourists, or may not speak English, so make sure you know where you are going when you leave the airport. The cobbled streets will hurt your hands as you drag your suitcase.
As far as the hotel, if I go back to Prague, I’m not staying...
Read moreWe stayed at Hotel Atos from 15-18 July. We absolutely loved it! Rooms were clean and hotel was quiet. It was a very hot few days and we were able to sleep with our window opened. A fan was also provided. It would have been nice to have a kettle and coffee/tea options in the room, but I guess it is not a normal thing in central Europe. Breakfast was included and it was a great variety of hot and cold options, coffee and juice (although juice wasn't great). Every day you had different options. We arrived early and although we couldn't check in, they kept our bags (they also kept our bags after check out which was very handy). Staff at reception was very friendly! Location was brilliant. Close enough to all touristy spots (about 15 minute walk to old town). It was just a brigde away from Charles bridge. Great transport connections and lots of things to do around the hotel (Nightmare Horror Bar is just opposite the hotel). The funicular stop to get to the Petrin Tower was just five minutes away. If we return to Prague, we will definately book this...
