U Kotvy — Restaurant in Prague

Typical tourist trap, we ordered our meal, waited almost 40 mins for it, someone didn't even get what he ordered. When they wanted to tell them they got wrong meals, the waiters didn't even understand it because they don't even speak english properly with an english menu..... I wanted to eat goulash, it was out of stock, okay, then I ordered meat, cabbage and dumplings. The dumplings were dry, I think they made it several days ago, the plate was overall disgusting. I ate better meals in school for lunch, and that wasn't good either. Save yourselves some money and time and don't even go near this place, there are so much better places in Prague for drinking and eating. Also they charged us a 10% service fee which they didn't even include in the menu...

Last friday i wanted to go there for a beer. In the bar are some really steep stairs and my friend fell down really badly. She passed out and i needed help, but no one in the bar and no one from the staff helped us. I asked the waiter to call an ambulance, but he didn’t. He just came to clean up the drink that my friend spilled while falling, but then never called the ambulance or came back to help. At that point my friend was convulsing….. finally a guest helped us, called the ambulance and translated for us………. But no one of the employees felt responsible. While this all happened also another person fell down the stairs… this can not happen. You should be taking care of your guests, something worse could have happened...

What a hidden gem of a restaurant in Prague, we actually walked past the place on the way to another place but didn't like the menu there so noticed Kotvy on the way past. They had menu's in English, at very cheap prices, the barman spook decent English so no problem with orders and the food was enjoyed by all 4 of my party, The burgers are great as is the hot chicken dish. We enjoyed it so much we went back 2 nights later for another tasting and it was just as nice. As the meal was so cheap compared to others in Prague I did feel justified in leaving a decent tip for the staff. If your there look them up, honest food , good beer and cheap prices.... just what you go...
