Zlaté Časy — Restaurant in Prague

SERVICE IS NOT GOOD 😤 The lady who seems like a restaurant manager was very rude. I asked to pack all the leftovers take-away as they said the restaurant will close in 10 minutes. However, she only packed one menu and threw away the other one. She said she did it because she didn’t know I asked takeaway for everything left on the table but that doesn’t make sense because I mentioned that all the cuisines were good so I wanted to take them as I can’t finish them before the restaurant closes. Anyway, she said her English listening is not good that’s why she couldn’t get me correct but her nuance and attitude were very rude and shameless. She was like “well, I didn’t understand you and we already threw away the food (with the hand motion of throwing away)”. I was very disappointed the way she talked and behaved. Although she said sorry, she didn’t really mean it. As a result: HALF OF MY GOULASH has evaporated to nowhere! Be careful if you are going to take away foods from this restaurant. They might throw away all of them and tell you they are sorry but this is not a thing for them.

Oh and one more thing: there was a party at the restaurant and they were VERY NOISY like literally partying with dancing and...

Upon our arrival I was searching for a nice restaurant with local food close to our airbnb. I found this place. Photos and reviews were promising.

The restaurant is located in a small street, bit hidden. Around 6pm there were already some tables with other guests, mostly locals. The waiter was very friendly. The music in the restaurant area was too loud for me, so we asked if you could sit in the bar area, which was no problem.

I asked her for a local dish that I saw on a photo. Goulash with potato pancakes. My boyfriend ordered a burger and my son had fries. Also got nice non alchohol beer from the draft.

Our food was really tasty! Loved every single bit (also the burger) I always follow my gut feeling when it comes to restaurant decisions and it has been such a food choice. It is interesting that on blogs about Prague food I checked, this place was not listed..yet.. Even the fries were hot and crunchy (most restaurants do have issues with getting this right)

Definitly recommend to go. (and not, ;) because I love the ‘local-non tourist...

Wow, what an amazing place! I had such a great time at Zlaté Časy. The food was absolutely delicious – honestly, it felt like eating at home, full of flavor and comfort. Every dish was cooked with so much care, you can really taste it.

But what made the evening even more special was the service. The staff here are just incredible – so friendly and attentive! They came by several times to ask if everything was good, if I enjoyed the food, and if I needed anything else. It wasn’t just polite, it felt genuinely warm and caring. That kind of service is rare and really makes you feel welcome.

I left the restaurant not only full but also with a big smile, because everything was just perfect – tasty food, cozy atmosphere, and super nice people working there.

This is definitely the kind of place I want to come back to again and again. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to enjoy amazing food and feel truly taken care of. Zlaté Časy is...
