Beautiful place, nice hosts, bad waiters and bland food.
With this new hyped place, expectations were high. Arriving with two italian friends with deep love for italian cuisine. Unfortunately, it was very visible that the hype was only applicable for corporate people, as there were no actual foodies, backhouse or fronthouse people enjoying a meal there. The food was mediocre at best, and often below. Upon seating it took close to a decade before waiter came to take our drinks orders. When explaining he made the first mistake, which was telling fullblood italians that the menu is a sharing menu and you would have to share pasta dishes "Just like they do in italy". When he left we all commented how wrong and sure of himself he was.
When you are providing a meal for close to 100 euro per person (including wine), then we expect that there should be some value for it - unfortunately we only found value in 3 dishes as we went full a la carte.
The pappardelle al ragu was bland, tasteless and with a clear misconducted story of gourmet pasta. We wished that it was the low point, however with the Trout came an olive oil sauce which was so bland and tasteless that we sent it back for their CDC to taste it. Unfortunately, the CDC took no ownership of the sauce and made the fronthouse tell us, that it is how it is supposed to taste - boring and bougie.
Foccacia and Calamari Fritti were the only good things. Will not recommend going there as it is not good value for money in a place like Copenhagen - you can walk 15 min from there, and get some of the best pizza in Europe...
Read moreItalian Elegance Meant for Sharing Ambra in Copenhagen is more than an Italian restaurant—it’s a celebration of conviviality. This is a place where food isn’t just served; it’s meant to be shared, savored, and lingered over. The kitchen delivers with quiet brilliance. Handmade pastas glide onto the table with silky precision, sauces layered yet restrained. But the undisputed star is the cotoletta alla Milanese—a golden, bone-in veal cutlet so perfectly crisped it could headline any Milan trattoria. Generous in size and flavor, it’s a masterpiece designed for two, inviting diners to carve and share in true Italian spirit. Service matches the ambition: attentive without intrusion, warm without artifice. Staff guide you through the menu with genuine enthusiasm, suggesting pairings that feel curated rather than scripted. The wine list leans confidently Italian, rewarding those willing to explore beyond the familiar. Ambra’s setting seals the experience—a modern Danish frame softened by Italian warmth. Light pools across polished wood, voices hum in harmony, and the atmosphere whispers: stay a while. Ambra earns its four stars by marrying authenticity with generosity. In a city chasing culinary reinvention, it reminds us that excellence often lies in the classics—especially...

Amazing Venu, but the service was terrible and the food even more so. We waited 20 minutes to put in a drink order only to wait 20 minutes for the drinks to come. Drinks were decent.
The whole table took the menu, including antipasti, primi, secondi and dessert. The antipasti didn't arrive until 20 minutes after the drinks order. The tables were too small to handle it all so it was a very cramped experience and we felt like they forced the food on us, rushing us trough it. Decent, although slightly boring.
The pasta was crazy disgusting. The carbonara tastes very funky and the pancetta (not sure it really was) had a rubber like consistency and the sauce tasted bitter... The "bolognese" was dry and the pasta overcooked. The neat had the consistency of dried beef jerky and tasted reheated... The dessert was okay...
The price point is ridiculous for the low-quality food and bad service.
During the night that followed our visit, two of us woke up during the night, to throw up, while the third got very bad diarrhea...!...
