This is a tourist trap, and as such you expect the food to be overpriced and not that great. You do not expect what we got here.
We ordered open-face sandwiches, which I assume are Guldmagerens bread and butter standard order, and something they should be able to push out quickly. However we had to wait 45 minutes with no sign of anything happening, before having to ask for our food. When we finally got our smørrebrøds they were dry, the sauces had coagulated, and everything had achieved ambient temperature, which means that the sandwiches had waited at least as long as we had, possibly longer.
While waiting, we got plenty of opportunity to study our servers ignoring customers wanting to order or pay, ignoring tables needing to be cleaned in order to seat new customers, and we got to see potential customers arriving, sitting down, waiting and then finally leaving when they couldn't get service.
I would suggest new management or a hostile takeover, because with its location and potential customer base this place has great potential for doubling or tripling its revenue just by seating customers, taking their order, delivering food and gathering payment in a timely manner. The way it works today is reminiscent of the first half of any Jon Taffer or Gordon...
Read more02.07.2024 This was my last evening in Kopenhagen. I decided to have my favourite dessert- waffles and coffee. For £14.50 I had quite a stale American coffee and a waffle that looked and tasted as if it came from a discounter shop for £0,50 and landed on my plate having been warmed up in the microwave and decorated with ice cream. I asked the waiter- why don’t you write on your menu- NOT FRESHLY MADE waffles . For selling them at that price it is supposed to be a high quality product. What marge is in the buying - selling process ? - is it more than 130%? Why did you NOT explicitly draw attention to your customers that these waffle are not extra made for a customer, just is simply overpriced and has nothing to do with enjoyment of eating out? Always in the customers face: handpicked mussels, homemade Eiscreme , organic veg….etc. Why I as a customer know nothing about not up to standard waffles at your place for that horrendous price? The evening has been spoiled, I felt being scammed and I want you to compensate my money that I saved for that trip and had to pay for something what is...
Read moreThis place is a joke. The staff took forever to take our order, our food arrived an hour after we were seated. Everything was overpriced, with classic tourist traps such as expensive waterbottles placed at the tables. The food was ok, but the pasta tasted like it was from a school kitchen. The staff were running around, despite this all the guests were waiting and waiting and waiting. One staff member, Andreas I think his name was, took us seriously and was really helpful. The others were pretty nonchalante. This place obviously survives by tricking non-suspecting tourists with the nice location. Avoid this place...
