Food was so so - however, very unreasonable table allocation approach. We booked an outdoor table and were told all reservations were for indoor tables whilst outdoor tables were for walk ins. fair enough. We booked. Turned up early, and there were outdoor tables available, so we requested an outdoor table. We sat at our preferred table, close to outdoor heating. Were told not to, and watched a hostess allocate it to someone who arrived AFTER us! We were eventually allocated a table where the heating was not functioning, so I requested to be moved to one of the other vacant tables close to the heating. The lady allocating the tables flatly refused my request 'I cannot give you that table". I remain baffled on why the request was refused. We finished our meal at 940pm, the restaurant shuts at 1000pm and throughout our dinner, the table I requested, remained empty. All I wanted was to be comfortable while enjoying the busker!! It was explained to me that it was kept for a party that apparently did not arrive - but that is simply inconsistent with their policy that was communicated to me - that is, "no reservations for outside tables". I know I could have walked out, and regret that I did not. The food was average and the experience with the table allocation further ruined our overall experience, and that was our last evening in Copenhagen as well. The best thing about the evening was the busker. Meanwhile, the lady never had the courtesy to clarify the situation despite my very apparent dissatisfaction. Instead, her...
Read moreYummy, yum, yum! Food was delicious and staff was so friendly.
I made reservations for their special all-you-can-eat set fresh seafood menu though their online system. It was easy but had to make a change a few days later. When I called the restaurant, they were extremely friendly and said there was no problem changing the reservation. Already the gave me a great impression.
When we walked in last night, their entire staff was wearing clear visors to help us (and them) feel protected from COVID. They had hand sanitizer for our own use and our table was 1.5m away from the other guests.
They took our coats for our convenience. ❣️ This was especially great since they were wet from having been in the train earlier that day.
They immediately confirmed that we were there for the set menu, but offered us a wine menu to view. It was varied but the server didn't really make any recommendations.
Our food came to the table within 20 minutes, and it was delicious. We had shrimp, crab claws, oysters, mussels, fresh bread and crispy French fries work a variety of sauces to compliment each item.
It was fresh, beautifully presented and the wait staff anticipated our needs (i.e. more food) before we even asked.
People say to never eat in Nyhavn because it's a tourist trap but this was a delicious restaurant and I would return, and recommend to locals. Great value for money and I love that they source from...
Read moreMixed bag re food quality with some very good elements, but unfortunately outweighed by the disappointments in our view. Overpriced.
Food: we had Salmon with baby potatoes and the Mussels (came with fries). Salmon was fine, the sauce it was served with was very good (4). I asked for bread to soak it up with, but never got it (service 2). The mussels were tiny (2), the soup served with it was excellent, though (5). The fries were so salty (1), we asked for a replacement (that was granted, yes, and replacement fries on top were less salty, but not the rest - service 2). Disappointing. Wine was ok, but servings were “conservative” to say the least, again disappointing, considering the limited choice (unless you buy a whole bottle) and the steep price. Charging 30 DKK (that is 4.22 in USD!) for “filtered water” per person (!) remains annoying at this place, despite the offer of unlimited quantities (who drinks more than a glass or two anyway?), especially if you want to pair your food with a glass of the super expensive wine. Others have given feedback re this annoyance in the past, but instead of doing away with this extra charge prices went up by 50% (from 20 to 30 DKK)! Service: friendly, but on the slow side. The ladies seemed overwhelmed by the touristy business. Atmosphere: small restaurant a bit crammed inside, but not uncomfortable. Noise level fairly...
