I came here with two friends because we thought it would be nice to go out for our last night in Copenhagen, and we stumbled upon La Sirene. The prices seemed reasonable enough for a touristy area, there were a few people eating there already, and there were vegetarian options which was important because two of us don’t eat meat.

We were seated outside and were given menus, which were sticky and dirty, and were then ignored for 20 minutes. During this time the staff were mainly standing around doing nothing, but at one point started racing each other next to our table which did not create a calm and welcoming environment.

We ordered three bottles of water, a vegetable pizza with no olives, an italiano pizza with meat sauce, and a pizza which i asked for with artichoke and olives but no ham or mushrooms.

The water arrived in bottles which were already open and had visible dirt inside, as if they had been reused, which made us all incredibly uncomfortable. The glasses were also dirty.

The food was brought out after 40 minutes, but at first we didn’t even think it was our order. The meat pizza was the only one that was technically correct, although the waiter called it the mexicano instead of the italiano which was confusing, and it looked like they had placed a cow pat on a pizza base. It was actually the worst food presentation I’ve ever seen, and I did food tech at school. The pizza which should have had artichokes and olives on it had artichoke, ham and mushrooms (again, I am vegetarian) but no olives, and the vegetable pizza literally was just a margarita with two slabs of ham on it. This one got sent back to the kitchen, and it took another 50 minutes for them to bring out the correct one (although it still had olives on which it shouldn’t have). By this point two of us had finished eating and we had had to check up on where the third pizza was multiple times. The food wasn’t even good, the onion in the meat sauce was undercooked and chewy in some areas but crispy in others and was just generally unpleasant.

While all this was happening, the man we assume to be the manager was clearly intoxicated, drinking limoncello with multiple other guests which is incredibly unprofessional and made us feel uncomfortable. As for the other staff, there were far too many people working there are none of them appeared to know what they were doing, they were all just standing around looking perplexed.

Finally we asked for the bill. After all that, they had the absolute AUDACITY to try and charge us €62, of which €18 was for the open dirty water. In the end we only paid half, which was still far more than it was worth but by that point we were all exhausted, cold and just needed to get out of there.

The entire experience was truly atrocious and really ruined the last night of our trip. And, to add insult to injury, the meat pizza also gave my friend food poisoning. I cannot discourage you from going to this establishment enough, absolutely avoid at all costs because they WILL try...

The only reason that we gave La Sirene 2 stars and not 1 is that Mario, the head waiter, agreed to give us 10% off on the beverages after we had complained about the terrible service. We had looked forward to celebrating my wife’s birthday here. So expectations were high: perfect location at Nyhavn, good atmosphere, family gathered. But something went terribly wrong. So wrong that it became farcical. When asking for a flag, we got a dirty plastic flag, which was a good fit to the rest of this run down place. We ordered beverages: 3 Coke Zero, 1 regular Coke, 2 large beer. We received: 4 regular cokes, of which 2 were cold, 2 were warm. The waiter (not Mario, the other very sulky guy, it looked like he hated his job, and us!) did not tell us that he did only bring regular coke until we asked him which were the diet cokes: none! When we then asked about the warm Cokes, he elegantly solved the issue by bringing us a glass of ice cubes (we had asked for no ice in the soft drinks). The beers: one was a true 0.5 liter size, the other only 3/4 full, when we received it. So we had to order another small beer to compensate for the deficit. But the bruschetta was really good. Unfortunately, the waiting time was unacceptably long. It was as if were being ignored or perhaps just forgotten on the otherwise empty first floor. We had to ask both for the food and the drinks several times before anything happened within half an hour. So the visit lasted almost 3 hours before we had our 3 course meal. Did they ignore us because of it being a SweetDeal? We had to clean the table ourselves to make room for the dessert. And the waiter asked us to keep the knife and fork to save on the dish washing. Perhaps he was joking, we like to think so. The grand finale was the tiramisu: the sulky guy threw it on the table next to us, so we had to serve it ourselves. At this stage we couldn’t help laughing of the surreal experience. So, I told Mario about our disappointment and bad experience, and here we are. Actually, 10% off seems on the low side taking the whole deal into consideration. We will not forget this place (though we will try), and we will certainly...

First contact with copenhagen and Denmark, was with this scam place and that drunkest and horrible person that I ever meet. First I order a pizza witch was 105 DKK a Tuborg beer at 39DKK (which I have doubts that was a real tuborg because it comes at draught with no sticker and the taste.....) and one FANTA 39DKK. That was what I ordered and after I ask for the Bill he comes to me with another beer witch I refused because I ask for the Bill. NOT FOR ANOTHER Beer, but because that guy was super drunk he didn't get that. And then he comes with the bill but first off all he tipped into his phone the price that he was trying to make me pay (without success off course) he was trying to charge me 250DKK and something instead of the total which was 183DKK, and when I ask him where he get that prices from he was starting to be very rude and aggressive, disrespectful and ashole. Starting to yelling at me, I have to pay this, saying to me on Spanish (presuming I don't understand Spanish) that El me rompe la mi cabeza if I don't pay. And he is gonna call the police to fine me 500dkk or whatever he was saying if I don't pay, I suggest him to call them but he never had the courage to call the police or have the balls to rompe mi cabeza. Them another guy from inside come and make me pay the real bill that was 183 DKK for what I ordered and then left this disgusting place what I don't recommend to anyone. AVOID THIS SCAM PLACE AT ANY COST. I Should raport to the cops this person to the cops but I just have one day of my trip in Copenhagen I want to enjoy my time here not to stress myself with useless asqueroso!!!. And I don't know why they trying to show that is a Italian restaurant when they are just a brunch of Spanish clowns that don't know to cook and serve at the table, just trying to scam people with the bill...

Mixed Experience at La Sirene, Copenhagen My visit to La Sirene in Copenhagen was a mixed bag. While the food was decent, the overall experience was marred by slow service, especially when the restaurant was full. It seemed like there weren't enough staff to handle the crowd, leading to frustratingly long wait times. The design of the first floor was overwhelming, with too much going on visually, which detracted from the dining experience. Additionally, it's worth noting that there may be mosquitoes present, so guests should be aware and prepared. Overall, La Sirene has potential, but improvements are needed in terms of service efficiency and ambiance. With some adjustments, it could be a more enjoyable dining destination in Copenhagen.
