I had the three course lunch menu, and right from entering the restaurant I was quite impressed. The interior is beautiful, heavily influenced by a French grandmothers estate I could imagine. It makes you feel very warm and welcome, and the window seats are absolutely amazing. I felt very much at home while dining there, they did really well with that.
We started out with their tartare on a bed of truffle mayo. Wonderful taste. Nice thick cut beef with a lot of texture, served with assorted vegetables and some crouton chips. Super nice mix of textures and flavors. I especially like the acidity the pickled berries brought to the dish, really nice. The tartare was accompanied by freshly baked Mizuna bread with garlic and thyme, it was piping hot and was so so delicious - soft, warm and slightly acidic.
For the main course we choose the beef with pomme paille, pepper sauce and bone marrow creme. The teres major cut is not my favorite, my partner likes the cut a lot but I find others to be more favorable, however, it didn’t take anything away from the dish. The pepper sauce was 10/10 lots of depth and layers of flavor. The fries were perfectly salted and every single one of them was crispy. The beef was served on a bed of bone marrow cream which was cold, whereafter the waiter poured the hot pepper sauce on top, highlighting the mix. I found the separating cream to be a bit weird visually, and also that it didn’t really add an interesting layer to the dish which I guess was the intention. I would have loved both separately to be honest.
Now, about the dessert! I love citrusy desserts, and although the main course was impressive the dessert was my highlight. The tarte au citron mixed with this insanely acidic lemon sorbet was so nice. These two things along with a scoop of the merengue was just heaven. I’d come back for the dessert alone.
Super nice experience, and definitely a place...
Read moreLast night I had the pleasure of dining at this new French bistro, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment my friend and I walked through the doors, we were greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance.
We began our culinary journey with three appetizers, and then the first course, and I must say, the scallops stole the show. Cooked to perfection, they were tender, succulent, and bursting with flavor. Each bite was a heavenly combination of textures and tastes. However, it didn't end there. The rest of the three-course menu was a gastronomic delight, with every dish showcasing the culinary expertise of the kitchen.
The attention to detail was evident in every aspect of our meal. From the citron olives that provided a refreshing and tangy contrast to the richness of the main courses, to the stuffed quail dish that was beautifully presented and cooked, the flavors were nothing short of amazing. The chefs at Gabrielle truly know how to balance traditional French techniques with innovative twists, resulting in a truly memorable dinner.
However, what certainly set Gabrielle apart was the exceptional service provided by the waitstaff, particularly Robin. Robin went above and beyond to ensure that our evening was not only enjoyable but also filled with laughter and delightful conversation. His attentiveness, knowledge of the menu, and genuine passion for his work added an extra layer of charm to the overall experience.
Update Jan 15th, 2024:
On Friday, I dined at Gabrielle with my team, a party of 15. The snacks were delectable, the tartar exceptional, and the beef dish popular among us. The haddock with caviar was a standout. The restaurant seamlessly accommodated our varied dietary preferences. The exclusive wine menu curated by our waiter added a delightful touch to the evening. Our waiters' hospitality truly made it a...
Read moreI recently visited Restaurant Gabrielle on Vestergade in the heart of the city, and it truly felt like stepping into a little corner of Paris. The atmosphere is warm and intimate, and the service was impeccable – our waiter was polite, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.
We went for their five-course menu, which overall was a very enjoyable experience. The meal began with a phenomenal beef tartare, served alongside their signature bread, which paired beautifully with the dish. The only drawback was that the portion was so large and rich that both my girlfriend and I were already quite full after the first course, which made it harder to fully enjoy the rest of the meal.
The next two courses were different preparations of white fish. First, a fresh and tangy halibut with sauce vierge – a wonderfully light and refreshing contrast to the heavier tartare. This was followed by the poisson du jour as the main course, served with a mussel sauce. The fish itself was well-cooked and tasty, but I found the sauce could have used a bit more depth of flavor – and a more generous amount on the plate. It was accompanied by small new potatoes, which unfortunately were slightly undercooked. This seems to be a common trait in many French restaurants, but it’s still a minor disappointment.
The meal ended on a high note with a delightfully fresh strawberry dessert – the kind of dish you could easily return for on its own.
Overall, Restaurant Gabrielle delivered a charming and memorable dining experience. Despite a few small critiques, the combination of warm service, inviting atmosphere, and thoughtful cooking makes it a place I would happily...
