I'm a Korean-American (from Southern California) visiting Quito. A local friend referred me to Soban when I asked about Korean food in Quito. The food made me feel like I was in an authentic Korean restaurant in Los Angeles. I tried the gopchang (tripa), soondae soup (blood sausage), japchae (stir fried potato starch noodles with meat and veggies), and naengmyun (spicy cold noodles). Naengmyun is a simple dish, and yet it's hard to get it right. The spicy sauce was AMAZING! Of course, all the other dishes were superb, well-seasoned with great flavor.

My favorite part is that they don’t add salt or MSG in their food. If you know Korean food, you’ll know that most Korean food is full of salt and MSG. But here, it was like my mom’s home cooked meal—clean and low on sodium.
