This restaurant ,as it's names suggests is a real gem .We have eaten here many times. The restaurant is very clean and the food is delicious. There is a very varied menu and all the food is freshly prepared and reasonably priced. In line with many restaurants outside of hotels you cannot purchase alcoholic drinks but you can bring your own.The restaurant is closed on Friday .You can get an excellent Sunday roast here but you need to book. The restaurant is situated quite a distance from the main road but well worth the walk or take a taxi (very cheap). The owner and staff are very helpful and welcoming
In the same street but nearer the main road is The Jewel's sister restaurant 'The Secret Garden 'this is open for breakfast ,lunch and snacks but closes in the evening. It is also the same high standard and useful if you want a quick bite to eat.You can also get packed lunches here. Don't hesitate to use these restaurants they are a must and represent excellent value...
Read moreDelicious freshly prepared Egyptian and international cuisine that's very reasonably priced. Vegan & vegetarian options are available. This business opens at 10:30am and is popular in the daytime with ex pats and tourists for drinks, sandwiches, rolls, pastries and socialising. The full menu is also available though. More like a traditional restaurant in the evening, I have tried a variety of dishes here both last year and on this visit, and all have been excellent. They use great produce here, using organic vegetables, salad and beef. You can taste the difference. The service is friendly and wait times are no longer than you would expect for freshly cooked food with no use of UPF's. Highly recommended: I'm a bit of a foodie and have tried most of the higher rated restaurants in Luxor. In my opinion, this place is one of the best. It can be quieter than it deserves to be on some evenings but don't let that...
Read moreI really love the service here, calm, elegant, and composed. When I first walked in, there was no one else, but I noticed two tables were already reserved.
Not long after, more regular customers started coming in one by one. That says a lot : the food here keeps people coming back.
The Tajen fish pot (240 EGP) came with at least 2-3 thick pieces of fish fillet, so much!really satisfying! The rich, slow-cooked sauce went perfectly with the rice.I finished all my rice after eating just 1/3 of the pot 😋
The mixed grilled lamb was also delicious, my partner wiped his plate clean in less than 10 minutes!
And the juice is a must-try!! Egyptian juices are known for being super rich, most places serve something closer to fruit purée, but here I guess they blend it with a bit of ice, making it refreshingly cold and smooth 🧊🍹
I really, really love...
