I had the pleasure of dinning at this restaurant on my last night in Luxor. I went with my travel group of about 15 and our tour guide on a Thursday evening. The restaurant is located in the street market, better known as El Souk. Our guide arranged for us to dine on the rooftop with the most amazing views! This restaurant accepts all forms of payment, that includes, credit cards, Egyptian pounds and USD! The service was a little slow, however, I am going to blame that on our group showing up late. We received our pre-ordered food first. The drinks did not show up until after several in my group were done eating their meal. The food was amazing! I had the mushroom feteera, a side Greek salad, and a cinnamon and apple cider. The feteera looked and smelled appetizing the moment it hit my table. I must admit that it did not disappoint. I ate every bite! The Greek salad was so fresh. The feta really was the shining star in this dish. The cider, oh how I can’t begin to describe how amazing it taste. I honestly was sipping it slowing to savor the taste longer. The food gets an A+ from me! Several in my group mentioned that this restaurant offered the best meal of our trip to Egypt! The best part- my meal was under $8 USD prior to me leaving a tip! I must also give credit to the restaurant for helping us to celebrate a birthday in our group. Our guide arranged for a beautiful cake to be brought out for the birthday boy. When I tell you they went above and beyond to make his day special!! The lights were turned out and several staff came out and did a birthday song for the man of the day! Thanks are in order for all who made that happen! Following dinner, we had the pleasure of meeting the chef. His name is Gbrele Ahmet. It was my pleasure to meet him! He had a great energy and the food he prepared was tasty! Our guide said he is the best chef in Luxor!! If I am not mistaken I do believe he noted that he is also a chef at the e Ritz Carlton in Luxor. If you have an opportunity to check this spot out, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed!

If you are looking to take beautiful sunset pictures for your Instagram followers, this is your spot in Luxor! To get to the rooftop, your enter through Nefertiti hotel and climb 6 or 7 flights of stairs to be seated at the rooftop for sunset. However, I’ll explain my two stars rating. If you want good Egyptian food or just good food in general that isn’t overpriced, come here for the sunset and after go to a non touristy place for food. Our time here as a whole felt rushed and not enjoyable. Every restaurant we’ve gone to in Egypt we’ve spent over an hour at dinner and here it felt like the server and a manger wanted us to order as quickly as possible and leave. They began to move the tables around us and constantly clearing our table and asking if we were done to clear our table for new patrons. I felt uncomfortable with all the stares and constant check ins because every other true Egyptian restaurant we’ve gone to has been a wonderful and welcoming experience. Here it felt like they wanted us to eat and leave because they took reservations for sunset time meals which cost more money so anyone who was seated an hour sunset and was hoping to stay through the whole experience, needed to leave for higher paying patrons. Now for the food, here’s how I know this is a true tourist catered restaurant. In all other local favorites we went to for Egyptian food, your entree came with four or five appetizers that included spreads and salads, bread, etc. Here, your food came with absolutely nothing and all those apps were individually offered. Secondly how I know this so truly for tourists is the lack of flavor and spice in food. This was our last city and at this point we’ve gone to 5 or 6 amazing Egyptian restaurants so we were used to the amazing taste. Immediately upon even tasting one of the spreads we ordered, I knew the food wouldn’t be good. Our entrees were not spiced, my chicken was over cooked with barely any chicken pieces and mainly tomato sauce. Majority of my husbands camel burger we fed to the sweet stray cat hanging by our table. Here is what I recommend, the mint and hibiscus teas are unmatched! Come here for your Instagrammable sunset post, order the tea and then leave to have food somewhere else. The prices are higher than we were used to in Egypt and the food was terribly prepared and I say that not to be offensive but I assume it’s by design to draw in tourists as our western food at times is more mildly flavored than other regions in the world.

The only reason I'm giving this restaurant a 3 star and not 2 is purely because of its view. It has an incredible view especially during sunset hours but the food is just average compared to the competition which is Sofra. (Sofra is lacking the view though) Food is very average as I said especially the beef meet with all the cheese they put. The smell and taste is not normal. Funny thing is they add frozen french fries like McDonald's! Instead of regular fresh potatoe fries. like half of the farms here produce potatoes!!!!! It's clean but not tasty. Also regarding the price it's about 20% more expensive than sofra. My advice stick for a tea, coffee or a snack and go for dinner - lunch somewhere else. Fruit juices are also not that much and more expensive than anywhere else I've been. Very mediocre restaurant really regarding quality, taste and quantity. And what's with all you guys giving this restaurant a 5star for the food! C'mon guys you really haven't ate any quality food in your life! Or you are just the same people who review restaurants in TripAdvisor for some cash or free food. Pathetic!

overworked waiters who don't care or don't have any energy left to care, filled to the gills with tour groups. Everything we ate was horrible. Hands down, the worst resturant we've tried in Egypt. And incidentally, it only took 1 full hour to get our food. We actually came here for coffee and check out the view. The view of the Nile and the Sphinxes are killer and likely worth a quick trip for a drink, especially at sunset. But, we made the mistake of ordering dinner here. Hopefully, this post will keep others from spending a lot of money on food they can't eat. Btw, one of the surest signs this resturant wasn't going to be good was the throngs of tour groups eating here, with their guides. Any foodie knows that hordes of tour groups = bad, bad food. This sadly was true here. Pic posted is supposed to be "beef shawarma" described as "flame grilled beef". Ha. Doesn't look, or taste, flame grilled to me ... or even look like shawarma.

We stayed in Egypt for a month travelling all over the country an this is the best restaurant we went to. The food was amazing, the staff, specially Zazu (or Zuza) who served us was great, friendly and helpful. They didn't overcharge us pretending that they miscalculated which is what we've been facing A LOT in Egypt. They did not add mandatory service percentage to the bill and left it to us to tip as much as we wanted. We were in Luxor for 7 days and we tried this restaurant on the last day which is my big regret! They even kept our left overs, as we ordered a lot!, in their fridge and when we went back to pick it up they didn't ask for money which is very rare in Egypt! They delivered good food, good service and didn't try to rip us off as tourist. I respect this kind of business and I would have given them 10 starts if that was an option! By the way, the view is Devine!

Probably the best rooftop restaurants in Luxor. Nice and relaxing ambience with laid back seating layout. Lots of food and drink choices, service was quick and friendly. Food was good and was one of the best restaurants in Luxor I visited. The card machine wasn't working but luckily we had cash, please make sure to bring spare cash to avoid such situations. Restaurants is on the top floor of hotel, 5th floor I believe didn't see a lift so not the most accessible. A very good view of the Luxor temple from above, with space heaters which comes in handy as evenings are very chilly. In the evening the avenue of sphinx is lit up nicely so it's great to see it from a different perspective.
