At Pomo I decided to try the Carbonara pasta. To start off, the atmosphere of Pomo restaurant is and always has been amazing – Pomo has a beautiful outdoor terrace and indoors they have lots of wild greenery and furniture straight out of a museum. You will never grow old of the atmosphere yet it serves as a relaxing and quiet place to eat. Furthermore, the service at Pomo is always perfect, the staff are well-mannered and polite, yet never miss an opportunity to smile and have a great time. We were momentarily given a seat and served with our food, leaving no room for any criticisms. The meal was very good, nothing too extravagant, as I decided to go for a simpler meal but overall very enjoyable. Although the food tasted very good, I do have to mention that the first impression of the food is not the best, as it had little to no decorations. Yet all that aside, Carbonara has been a favorite ever since. Lastly, the prices at Pomo are nothing to be too content about. Drinks at Pomo are around 10 euros and foods more than that. Especially considering that Pomo does not decorate their foods extravagantly, or offer any other specialties, I do have to critique on this matter...
Read moreGood experience ! Biscuit cake for dessert is just excellent (but expensive for dessert), I recommend! And all food in general is very tasty and good. I think pizza bella pesto is too expensive for what there is on the pizza...pesto, mozzarella and 4 cut cherry tomatoes... The service is ok, but sometimes I little bit strange, like one waitress was answering us in english which language we spoke to her, when we spoke in english to her... it was really strange, they were a little bit slow in comprehension, seems like they do not understand english. Other point, one waitress just brought us menu and directly came and ask us if we were ready to order. I mean, she just gave us menu. How can we be ready. One advice : when people are still watching their menu, that means that they are not ready to order for the moment. There is a lack of waitress training, that was not professional. But that is just an advice, otherwise we were globally satisfied with our experience there and I recommend the place. Pizzas are, for all we have tasted for the moment in Tallinn, the...
Read moreThe great reviews that Pomo has gained encouraged us to choose it as our dinner place of choice - unfortunately very little went right during our visit.
The worst of it was the wait - we waited for an hour before our food arrived while other tables, even some that arrived later than we did, got theirs. None of the staff said anything to us to let us know and the place seemed more than half empty which made the wait even more frustrating.
By the time our food came, our mood had soured twice already and, funnily enough, we had to think what each of us had even ordered so each got their own. Sadly, the food wasn't as magnificent as advertised - far from it. The calzone was doughy and somewhat tasteless whereas the pasta carbonara was so creamy it turned soupy. Rest of the pizzas were fine. Our waiter, especially at first, was kind and cheerful, but by the end everything seemed to fall apart and small stumbles with the service seemed to pile on.
A really disappointing experience to end...
