Honestly, this was a bad joke. I ordered the breakfast plate for 17e and I would have been happy to pay that if it would have been any good. The vegetarian version of the toast was dry and tasteless with some cheese and bell pepper inside. The fruit was so tasteless, I didn't even know that's possible. The yoghurt was ok but nothing new. Then I also ordered a "fresh juice" for 7,50e, but it was just all the same fruits found on my plate put in a blender. Tasteless watermelon, grapes, blueberries and I think it was nectarine. Weird combo... So not really a juice, but not a smoothie, either. Tasted like nothing and the consistancy was disgusting. Then I ordered just a normal filter coffee. All in all I payed 27e for this and did not enjoy it. I left most of the fruit and the so called Juice, and not once did the waiter check if everything was okay. He just didn't seem to care. And I didn't have the energy to start complaining since he didn't even bother to ask if I enjoyed the food. I was so dissapointed, as the place at first seemed like a good, authentic greek place. And I was so upset that I just spent 27e for something that bad. I don't recommend this place to anyone, so save your money and energy and go...
Read moreMy wife and I were in Helsinki recently and we went to Cafetino for a meal, late in the afternoon, shortly before closing time. Initially the owner George said the kitchen was closed, but as we walked away, he called us back and invited us in for a meal. We had a meal of Greek Salad, which was delicious and fresh, just made especially for us to share. In addition, my wife had the Moussaka which she loved, and I had the Cannelloni, which was without a doubt the best that I have ever had.
Even better than the food, was our conversation with George. As we were eating and he was cleaning the kitchen, we talked about everything - his family, pets, transition to Finland from Greece, our family and travels. We spent time sharing photos, stories and experiences. George made us feel like close friends that hadn’t seen each other in some time. His warmth, and generosity of heart, was ever present.
So, the food was phenomenal and the owner, George, is a wonderful person who made us feel like family.
We highly recommend heading to Cafetino whenever in Helsinki!!! ...
Read moreWe picked up this place based on recommendations. Of course the greek menu had a positive impact. It was one of the rare winter blizzards attacking us while we rushed our way towards Cafetino. The contrast could not have been bigger as we were warmly welcomed to the little home kitchen like cozy restaurant. Giorgios prepares all the food in front of your eyes while you can enjoy the aroma of the food and chat with him. We chose to eat cannelloni and it was super good, worth of five stars alone. For the dessert we had cappucinos and baklava, no disappointment. Everything else in the place deserves another five stars. I wish we had more these small unique places in Finland. The dining experience is so much better than in big bulk restaurants. And the food is really cheap too. For your next restaurant evening pick a place like...
