Now I'm going to have to be mean here and I don't really like leaving reviews like this. But for a British Asian person, this place was not it. By far the worst food we have ever had.
Unfortunately the food wasn't authentic to south Asian flavours. The food was lacking spice, salt and flavour overall. I enjoyed the lamb chops and mango lassi but the thaali's, Currys, rice dish and tandoori chicken were the worst we have tasted Unfortunately. They tried to accommodate by giving us red chilli, which I appreciate, but it wasn't the spice that was lacking in the food it was overall 0 flavour.
It seems like they cater for Caucasian and Arab customers more who tend to eat less flavourful food overall, so they seemed pleased with it. It wasn't catered for desi people.
The atmosphere is nice, the service is good, they do really try to please you by constantly coming over and asking and trying to accommodate. But the issue isn't with the front of staff it's the chefs at the back.
For the money we paid, it was a rip off Unfortunately. We wouldn't have ever paid that even in UK, so we don't understand how the pricing was worked. A meat thaali was 34euros which is diabolical.
Overall I hope they can cater in the future to...
Read moreWas really looking forward to eating here so was very disappointed by the food.
When I saw the high prices I was expecting a good meal but that wasn’t the case.
Portion size was tiny. I got a naan bread and chicken korma. I don’t get rice as usually when I go to Indian restaurants the naan bread is enough to mop up the sauce. In this case the naan bread was tiny. Half the size it should have been. Also maybe 6 or 7 pieces of chicken, barely enough for a single chicken breast yet the curry was like €20. Crazy pricing. I left this place still hungry. Way overpriced considering the portion sizes. I don’t know why this place is so expensive but I felt very ripped off after being served the food.
As others have said the food also arrived suspiciously fast after ordering. I was seated, ordered, and finished my food in literally like 10 minutes.
This place should be a takeaway with much lower prices, then it would get 5 stars. I was expecting more. Don’t recommend.
Also they didn’t even serve complimentary poppadoms which is the norm at pretty much every Indian restaurant ever.
Also not a fan of the steel cups and plates, they don’t feel...
Read moreAs an Indian it’s quite hard to get authenticate Indian food outside India like in western part of the world. I live in europe and have been to many europeon countries and thus to many Indian restaurants there. But both Annapurna and Annapurna 2 in Chamonix valley in the center area , are one of the best authentic Indian restaurants. We visited Chamonix for 4 days and after first time trying in Annapurna 2 , we ate all 4 days we ate in these 2 restaurants , reason being the foods were awesome specially the grills/tikka , thalis, biriyani, tandoori chicken, Kerala curry with salmon fish, Indian style egg fried rice & chilli chicken, veg items like bhindi masala , home made somosa’s and many more. In these 4 days we tried almost all the different options. All were just yummy. Best part was they have not blend food taste with other cousins but give you the authentic feeling. We also tried in other French and Italian restaurants but none gave us the kick like this ones. Hope to come back again if we visit Chamonix again. Keep up the good work and make our country India proud...
