As a deeply disappointed bystander, I feel compelled to share my negative review of this restaurant. If you happen to be a tourist looking for a place to dine, I urge you to reconsider visiting this establishment.
I witnessed an appalling incident where a black (seemed to be American) family was unjustly treated due to their race. Despite the family politely challenging the seating policy and insisting that there were no available seats, they were blatantly disregarded. To my utter dismay, moments later, a group of white Europeans , that could be clearly heard saying we didn't have reservations, arrived and were immediately granted entry and seating. It was a clear display of favoritism and discrimination.
To make matters worse, when the family confronted the manager or maître 'd about this blatant injustice, they responded with unwarranted aggression. They verbally abused the potential customer, telling her to "f(full word) off," and then resorted to physical assault by forcefully grabbing her arm when she tried to document the employee's unacceptable behavior on her phone.
The entire situation caused a commotion, and even other guests (the white Europeans) joined forces with the manager in verbally assaulting the mistreated group. To my disbelief, they even attempted to throw things at them as they walked by. Such acts of hostility are absolutely unforgivable.
No one should ever be subjected to mistreatment solely because of the color of their skin. It is disheartening to witness such a complete lack of respect and appreciation for fellow human beings, especially while on holiday and participating in a festival like Cannes Lions.
In light of this distressing incident, I strongly advise exercising extreme caution when considering dining at this establishment. It is evident that the values upheld by the management and some of the patrons do not align with principles of equality and fairness.

Read moreI dined here with my girlfriend and her family during our vacation in Cannes. We were immediately drawn by the quaint atmosphere and the rowdy, yet not overly boisterous crowds gathered inside. It appeared to be many locals, so we figured we would give it a try.
I'm not sure if this is the case all the time/at many other restaurants, but they had a very limited (albeit very tempting) selection of entrees on a small board outside on the wall, which served as the menu. Although limited, it encompassed many areas including fish, meat, pasta, and pizza.
We began with an artichoke carpaccio, which was absolutely delicious. Paper thin fresh artichokes and oil with a gratuitous amount of delicious shaved Parmesan on top. For entrees, two got the filet with peppercorn sauce, which was divine and served with baked potatoes. We also had a glazed chicken - very good sauce and tasty although a little dry and a veal Milanese, which was delightfully light and good as well. The show stopper was a pasta side served with the veal - a penne made with a fresh, slightly sweet crushed cherry tomato sauce, which also had just a hint of heat.
Our waiter was very attentive and witty and polite and spoke very good English, and was much more in line with what you'd expect from American waitstaff (which was a nice refreshing surprise given the typical service during the week we'd spent in Paris and Nice).

Read moreI ended up here on the recommendation of my hotel's front desk person after discovering my preferred restaurant was closed for a private party.
Service was excellent. The staff was happy to help me in English. The food overall was decent. They were out of several items, but this is understandable and I'd prefer a restaurant run out of items than substitute lower quality ingredients.
I ordered an appetizer of a truffled pasta wrapped in ham, which was sublime... delicious without being excessively rich. I then had a special filet mignon au poivre. The filet could've been cooked a little less (it came out med rare instead of rare like I ordered) and could've stood to have more seasoning, as the filet is a rather bland cut of meat. But it was very tender, and the au poivre was absolutely amazing. I used the excess au poivre to pour on my mashed potatoes, which were unfortunately disappointing on their own. Alas I've found most mashed potatoes in France to be bland and overly pureed, so that's the norm.
Overall I was happy, but should I return I would order a different entree and I'm sure it would be more...
