I had an experience of 2* hotel at Cannes few years ago and it was not bad. This time I got even better experience as I enjoyed my stay greatly. Hotel is easy to find but after that you will climb with your luggage about 20 stairs up to the reception. This was the only tricky moment as the whole 4 night stay appeared very good. Room #6 was spacey, with a wide comfortable bed, washbasin, shower and a sitting bath. Very modest but clean. In the room there is a wardrobe enough for 1 person clothing. Small table and 1 chair and one more table with an armchair in the room with a flat TV and silent yet effective air conditioning. The only thing was that if the window is open then you get in the kitchen smell from below café though the smell was not unpleasant:) ||The breakfast is served either to your room or you can have it in a tiny space at the reception area. For the price of 7 euro you will get a glass of juice, coffee or tea, milk, assortment of jams, croissant and big piece of fresh baked baguette and butter. ||In case you need more substantial breakfast you can get it in the street café just one step out of the hotel. There are other cafes in 2 minutes walking either way.||The wifi is fast and free. Location is great - 2 minutes to the beach and 1 minute to Croisette. ||The hosts are very friendly and welcome you, try assisting you wherever possible. ||You can get an iron and ironing desk and a hair dryer if you need.||I loved my stay and strongly recommend if you want a cheap but good hotel in the very...
Read moreThis a tough review to write. First let's get this out of the way, this is a budget hotel in Cannes, which is not a cheap place. Considering what your paying compared to nicer places in Cannes, you really shouldn't expect a whole lot. It has four walls, a bed, a bathroom and air conditioning, pretty much it. The building has no elevator, my room had zero view and it had only one plug, that wasn't even close to a desk or night stand. But the washroom was clean and larger than most and the location is fantastic, which makes up for all of it's short comings. You want a better location, you'll need to book the Carlton or The Martinez, both over €200 a night. You're a few steps from the ocean and right next store is La Pastis, a restaurant in the Michelin guide. Really good food with very reasonable prices, which is nice because food in Cannes is pricey unless you go to the snack places and eat sandwiches. Plus, the women working reception were super nice....and cute...just saying. To reiterate, it's a budget hotel, don't expect much. Just enjoy that you're saving some money and you're situated in a real nice spot and if you want a nice hotel in Cannes, you'll have...
Read moreWe have stayed at this hotel for one week every year for the past 20 years but never again. ||The hotel has a new owner and sadly the lovely couple who ran it have left. We booked and prepaid for two rooms with the previous owners as we have done for the past 20 years. ||Imagine our shock when after 3 nights we received an email saying that the personal contents of one of the rooms had to be removed because our colleague had not checked out. We had to rush over to the hotel to sort this mess out!||We were then told that our other room had only been booked for 4 nights not 6 and that we would have to pay for an extra 2 nights. ||The whole thing was very unprofessional. There was absolutely no recognition of our past loyalty or apology from the new owner for the poor handover. ||It is clear that the new management have a totally different approach to the past owners. We decided to check out after 5 nights to get away from this awful place. ||I hope you have a better experience if you decide to stay here. We will...
