My recent visit to the Ritz Paris was incredibly disappointing and far from the high standards one would expect from such a prestigious establishment.
Key Issues:
Despite arriving on time for our reservation, we were made to wait 10-15 minutes before being seated. This was particularly inconvenient as we had a train to catch. The restaurant was not busy, and there were several empty tables, leaving us confused about the delay.
Chaotic Atmosphere: While waiting, we noticed numerous people walking in and taking photos who were clearly not guests or patrons. This disrupted the ambiance and detracted from the exclusivity of the venue.
Service Failures: After being seated, we were handed menus but left unattended for 20-30 minutes. No one explained the menu to us, leaving us unsure of our options. Meanwhile, other tables received detailed explanations from their waiters. The table itself was wobbly, and service throughout the meal was inconsistent. For example, water was topped up for female guests but repeatedly overlooked for one of our male companions.
Food Quality: Our main courses were a mixed experience. The pasta was served hot, but the chicken was cold, an unacceptable lapse at a venue of this caliber.
Departure Experience: Upon leaving, the concierge called a taxi for us, but the doorman abandoned us midway to assist another arriving car, making us feel unimportant.
Health Concerns: One member of our party suffered severe stomach pains and was hospitalised the next day with food poisoning. While the hotel claims no other guests reported similar symptoms, this does not mitigate our experience or concerns about food hygiene standards.
Offered Compensation: The management offered us an aperitif for two on a future visit, which feels inadequate considering the magnitude of the issues we faced.
Overall, this visit fell drastically short of the luxury, professionalism, and service excellence associated with the Ritz Paris. I hope the management takes serious steps to address these issues, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend this establishment and would advise others to manage their expectations...
Read moreSo disappointed ! I called them yesterday at Bar vendome , because i had their card with there phone number . Wa took a flight specially to celebrate my mum's birthday . I called to book a table for having drinks and François Perret's pastries , i insisted about that .. they said to come without any reservation , because its at the week end when its full because people come for the tea time . I wasn't interested because we already did it with friends and mum was craving françois perret's pasteries , and it was her birthday so we wanted a cup of champagne and coktails ... so Bar vendome was the perfect place as we always used to come for birthdays or to celebrate something ... anyway ... we came today . And they told us that there is nooo table available ( we came at 15h00 ) they told us to come at 17h30 a table will wait for us ! I asked if we will find pasteries .. they said of couuurs!!! We wait till 17 h 30 .. they told us again : yes theire is a table but no pasteries anymore .. they advice us to go to comptoire meanwhile a women with blue uniforme of ritz told us to not cross the hotel to go to comptoire François Perret because there is a lot of people today ... the hotel was not crowded at allllll ! I asked another women who was next to bar vendome to let me cross the hotel because im toooo tired to get out the hotel and walk a long distance instead of crossing the aisle of hotel and it will be simple and closer ... she said yes of course its not forbiden at all ... we went to françois perret no pasteries neather ... so thanks to destroying my mums birthday ! Read moreA Heartbreaking Breakfast Experience – Left Feeling Disappointed and Unwelcome
I had high hopes for a nice breakfast, but unfortunately, my experience at this restaurant left me feeling truly let down. It wasn’t just the food – it was the entire atmosphere that made me regret coming here.
Coffee: I was excited to start my day with a warm cup of coffee, but it was scalding hot and burned my mouth. When I asked for a replacement, the waiter refused. He only offered cold milk, but even that was forgotten, leaving me feeling ignored and disrespected.
Yogurt: To my dismay, the yogurt wasn’t even fresh – it was just something they’d picked up from the supermarket. I had expected more care and effort for what was supposed to be a lovely breakfast.
Bread: The bread was dry and stale. It wasn’t the comforting, fresh bread you’d hope for in the morning, but rather something that seemed to have been left out far too long.
Fruit Platters: The fruit felt like leftovers from the buffet, hastily thrown together without any care. It was such a sad presentation, and it really set the tone for the entire meal.
Eggs Benedict: This was the final disappointment. The Eggs Benedict, something I usually look forward to, was completely bland and tasteless. It felt like no effort went into making it enjoyable.
Staff Attitude: What made the experience even worse was the indifference and coldness from some of the staff. I couldn’t help but feel like we were a burden rather than welcome guests. It was heartbreaking to be treated with such disregard.
Overall, this place is nothing more than a tourist trap. The food was disappointing, but the cold and uncaring atmosphere was what truly ruined the experience for me. I left feeling sad and unwelcome, and I wouldn’t recommend this...
