Came to the Terass Restaurant with my partner we had booked a little while in advance and I was really excited to visit. On arrival the staff seemed really nice however as the evening went on it got worse. We ordered a glass of wine each, they brought out the wrong wine for me and when I asked to change it the waitress said well it's free since it was a mistake you can have it if I wanted and they would bring out my original glass I had asked for - which I thought was nice. I drank my wine however they never brought out the one I actually ordered and at the end of the night I realised they had charged me for the wrong wine which they said was free and which was more expensive. We both ordered steaks med rare, when the steaks arrived they didn't even look like the same cut of meat since mine has been cooked way more than my boyfriend's. We couldn't get the attention of the staff to say anything so we just left it and ate the meal. Mine was very well done and my boyfriend's was probably medium. The food was ok but I would have preferred my steak med rare as would my partner. We then ordered dessert, I ordered a cheese board and another glass of wine. My glass of wine never arrived and when they dropped off my cheeseboard they didn't have any crackers or bread with it. I tried for quite some time to get somebody's attention to ask for bread to no avail so I literally had to pick up the cheese and eat it without anything else. On top of all this, on the table next to us a local french speaking couple sat down after us and we realised very quickly that they were being treated completely differently to us - bread refreshed as soon as their basket was empty, water being topped up constantly and at one point they had 3 staff members at their table looking after them whilst we struggled to get the attention of one person. Such a shame since it was so excited to visit Terass but personally I feel like the terrible service is enough for me to never recommend this place and I...
Read moreWe stayed here for the weekend in August. First time in Paris and feel quite lucky with this hotel, it must have the best views over Paris for breakfast! The Hotel is well decorated, modern clean and tidy. It has a lot of character that fits the age, history and location of the hotel. In a fantastic location it's a stones throw from the art central of Montmartre, Cemetery and Blanche metro that will take you almost anywhere. There are lots of restaurants and bars to choose from not 5minutes walk.
Breakfast really is about the view. The food is good and of good quality but delicate. The choices are ample but petit to put it locally! Locally there is a great deal of choice for breakfast also so I'm not sure I would opt for breakfast again. We did not use the restaurant for evening meal. However, using the bar it is on the more expensive side but once again the mood and environment likely commands this.
Staff are all very polite and courteous.
The negatives for me, the rooftop bar (understandably) is oversubscribed. Very often a que outside the hotel and very busy. On the 6th floor it was at times quite noisy. In particular I dislike that there is no separation from the public bar and private rooms (simple open staircase from 7th to 6th. Consequently non residents on occasion were wandering around the 6th floor. For some reason the hot water takes an age to come through. As it was the height of summer this wasn't much of an issue but if it was cooler it would...
Read moreMy now-wife and I held an intimate wedding reception dinner for 15 in Terrass" Hotel's restaurant and also reserved the Eiffel artist studio for the evening last weekend.
From A to Z, everything was perfect. Mourad, the director of reservation services, helped with us for months to plan and finalize the plans for our dinner, answering myriad questions along the way so that on the big day, all was accounted for (meals, dietary restrictions, table settings, decoration, guest placement, etc.)
The day of, the service with hotel staff and especially restaurant staff was beyond reproach. Staff were warm, available and welcoming with us and all our loved ones. They were present without being overly insistent, and they really helped us to share an incredible meal in the beautiful restaurant space.
The room itself, an 8th floor studio overlooking Paris from Montmartre, was sublime. A comfortable, well-equipped and incredibly cozy space that was the perfect place to wind down at the close of the evening.
The breakfast the following morning was fresh and varied, with yet more staff who helped to ensure all guests were comfortable and enjoyed their Sunday morning meal.
From start to finish, we could not be happier with how our big day turned out with the hotel. Though we've already loved coming to eat at Edmond Restaurant and enjoy the view together for years, it has now become a truly special place for us.
We will most certainly be back -...
