If I could give La Dolce Vita negative stars, I would. Dining here felt less like a meal and more like a punishment.
Let’s start with the “owner”—a man who seems to take pride in his rudeness. From the moment we walked in, he acted like we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers. No greeting, no smile—just a grunt and a dismissive wave toward a table like we were stray dogs. Throughout the evening, he barked at staff, rolled his eyes at customers, and even muttered insults under his breath when I asked a simple question about the menu. Charming.
Speaking of the menu—what a joke. Half of the dishes listed weren’t even available. That’s not a menu, that’s a list of empty promises.
What we did get barely resembled Italian food. The pasta tasted like it came from a can, the sauce was watery and bland, and the bread was so stale I could’ve used it as a doorstop. When we dared to ask about the missing items, the owner scoffed and said, “This is not McDonald’s, madame.” No sir, you’re right—McDonald’s at least has what’s on the menu.
The only authentic part of this experience was how authentically awful it was. Avoid this place at all costs unless you enjoy being insulted while paying too much for bad food that isn’t even what you ordered.
Save yourself. Go literally...
Read moreI visited this place summer 2024 while on vacation in France. My experience was terrible. The owner gave me a hard time because I did not know I could not bring my own drink to the restaurant. I’m from the US. Since I was touring around the city, I brought a small coke can and drank it while I ate a 25 EUR pasta I had ordered to eat in the restaurant. The owner noticed my drink and went on to yell at me while stating racist comments like “we don’t do that here in Paris. This is not America.” He then went on to crush the soda can and slammed it in a public trash can nearby. Everyone eating looked at me while this was all happening. I felt so embarrassed. I had no problem paying an additional 4 EUR for a drink if it was an issue. The owner could’ve politely let me know outside drinks were not allowed in his restaurant. The embarrassment could’ve been avoided. Instead he chose to be abrupt and rude. I felt so disgusted after this experience that I ended up going to my hotel and leaving France the next day. This ruined my perspective of how people...
Read moreOne of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The owner came over after we ordered to tell us—without any apology—that one of the main dishes just wouldn’t be served. No reason, no alternative, nothing.
When we tried to order something else, he got rude. We said we’d skip the main, and his response? “Great, that’s what I wanted to hear.” Unbelievable.
Shocking attitude and zero professionalism. Won’t...
