Le Grand Amalfi — Restaurant in Paris

Just came here for Valentines tonight and left wanting to cry. After sitting at our table for over an hour with no menu, no water and no bread- we were told only the Valentines menu was available for 75€ a piece. My husband and i came here a year ago and the tiramisu was so good we joked that we wished it would be our wedding cake. Well tonight he surprised me with a reservation at this restaurant, to have our favorite tiramisu and i was so excited. after an hour we watched another couple get up and leave, clearly upset. there were dirty tables everywhere. when our waiter came he said that we couldnt have carbonara, as the valentines menu was all we could eat from. We sat there confused because we didnt have the valentines menu, we didnt have any menu. When the waiter came back by 15 minutes later - we asked just to have tiramisu and he said no. we grabbed our things to leave, and because i was upset my husband turned back around to talk to the guy. even though he shared our story of really loving the restaurant, and sitting there for over an hour waiting, the waiter still didnt care. i am so sorry we had this experience…. we both adored the restaurant and this was our first valentines as husband and wife and i feel so heartbroken that his surprise for me turned into one of the worst experiences...

S'il était possible de ne mettre aucune étoile, je l'aurais fait 👍🏼. Par où commencer... 😏 L'accueil qu'il soit du patron ou des serveurs, c'est simple il est inexistant !!! Ah non, je reformule... Il est inexistant si seulement vous êtes un client lambda, par contre si vous êtes un minimum influent, ils vous tartinent pour "la bonne image" de l'enseigne. À partir de l'accueil, j'ai compris que nous payons le cadre et la pub que beaucoup de personnalités connues font... J'ai mangée des plats tellement mais tellement meilleurs, qui ne payaient pas de mine mais où l'accueil, le service et le goût étaient au rdv !!! Incroyable ce que les réseaux travestisse !!! En allant au grand Amalfi, sachez que la réalité est tout autre. Les plats sont vraiment fade, j'ai mangée car j'avais littéralement faim. Pizza au thon sèche, la pâte quasiment pas cuite, les ingrédients étaient secs, j'ai imbibée ma pizza d'huile d'olive pour apporter du goût et du raffinement mais même l'huile d'olive n'était pas qualitative... Le tiramisu pistache était une belle arnaque... J'ai payée le cadre et la notoriété mais pas la cuisine car elle est littéralement inexistante !!! Pour vos photos c'est cool mais si vous avez faim et connaissez un VRAI italien, n'allez pas perdre votre temps et votre argent chez eux !!! Les serveurs sont tellement mais tellement désagréable, ils sont à l'image du patron et de la cuisine... Ayez toutes les personnalités connues que vous voudrez mais vous n'avez aucunement le talent d'un vrai restaurant italien !!! Je suis sortie avec la faim !!! Et pour finir au téléphone ils ont certifié que c'était "h@lal" mais finalement 4h plus tard il n'y avait que le poulet qui était h@lal. J'avais compris en voyant la carte que le haLl@l n'était qu'un attrape clients... Un restaurant h@ll*L sur une viande sur dix qui plus est vend du porc... J'ai vraiment pas compris le concept !!! On est clairement sur une bonne grosse blague !!! Plus jamais !!! Finalement, beaucoup de bruit pour pas grand...

This is a WONDERFUL outdoor café we stopped at across from Notre Dame. Pino, our waiter, was one of the best we’ve had in Europe; he speaks excellent English, which we appreciated, and gave us a wonderful recommendation for pizza. We have been to the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, and now Paris. Going home to the US in a couple days. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the very tasty pizza, a couple excellent gin and tonics, and the beautiful surroundings. I hope everyone will take time to experience the hospitality and wonderful service at Le Grand Amalfi, especially if visiting Paris to see Notre Dame Cathedral. ...
