Amazing place! Friendliness: We didn't have a reservation but weren't 'eye rolled' like some other reviews suggested. The host /hostess were very friendly, spoke great English and offered to help explain the menu. Food: As someone who doesn't eat four legged animals or seafood 😂 I found the food nothing short of breathtaking. The food was organic ( menu claimed 85%), not spicy but very flavorful. We got one formule and one plat, both were great. The plat especially was well worth the price. Every single morsel was delicious on that plate. Most of the stuff was savory but there was a small fruit puree with figs. The desert was pineapple based with edible flowers. Again, not over sweet very balanced and very good. Definitely, one of the best foods I've tasted. Drink: Their wine selection is organic too! We got the 50 cl version and that was plenty for two people. Unlike some places in europe, water was free. The host was very helpful in explaining the different pairings. Not a very large selection but a good choice is white wines with a few rosé. Location : easily walkable, we Uber-ed. Didn't seem like they had parking which is expected in a city like Paris. They had outdoor, indoor and upstair seating. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great quaint non pretentious dinner experience. Bon apetite!

Disclaimer: I live in London where we have a lot of very impressively amazing vegan restaurant. That’s part of my calibration here. So, the food was good, no doubt. But it was not great. The “escalope”, for example, did not attempt to actually mimick an escalope, but was a rectangular slab of some meat substitute with yellow sauce on top. That was ok but hardly mind-blowing. Same for the macrobiotic plate - good, simple stuff. The Miso soup was not some fancy miso-based soup... it was just a miso soup with smoked tofu inside (normally £1.50 in a Japanese restaurant... but here if I recall correctly it was about €6). If the prices were halved I’d give this 5 stars. But for 19 euros a dish, I expected more creativity. I guess it is the price tax of eating next to Notre Dame... If this was London, a similar dish would have cost £7-12 or so... £12.99 at a stretch. €19 is just too much for what it was. I’m happy to pay €19 for a dish but then it should be something I could not cook at home myself easily, and this was just nice simple vegan food. And again, the disclaimer: perhaps my expectations are warped because of living in London...

The descriptions in the menu may not sound particularly special (ok, it's a seitan steak with sides, so what?) but BOY is it good! All about it is fantastic -- the sides are creative, fresh and very aromatic, the steak (which is actually cut into stripes) is among the best seitan I've had, and all in all I'm very tempted to go again to find out all about the other "boring-sounding" dishes like couscous with ratatouille, to be amazed once again. EDIT: Visited again a year later, had more super fantastic vegan food. The service is also top notch. Will always come back. Prices are around 18 € per meal. EDIT2: On my third visit the food was great as always, especially the tofu. But the service was abysmal. We were asked a single time what we wanted do drink; after that waiters kept ignoring our empty glasses and water jug when when they brought the dishes. They also didn't remove the empty bread basket (or any empty glasses) when the mains came, crowding up the small table. Get better next August, then you'll get the 5th star back.

Update (response to the owner):

I was waiting for you to reply like a churlish little child. I encourage all your potential customers to look at how you speak to people. Arguing on here in the review section makes you look like the small man you are. It’s a disgrace that you run a restaurant in Paris and don’t even know what good customer service is. Yelling and swearing at someone is unacceptable in any situation. You’re a disgrace to French restauranteurs. We had many delightful and delicious culinary experiences while in Paris - quite the opposite of the kind of establishment you run. Keep arguing here if you like. The alternative is to listen to feedback and improve. You won’t though, that would take intelligence and integrity you obviously don’t have. Adieu.

Original review:

We read the good reviews and decided to try this place without a reservation. We were certainly looking forward to eating some delicious vegan food. Upon arriving and asking for a table for two, we were told to come back in 20 minutes despite there being multiple tables available. We left and returned after about 45 minutes and again asked for a table. The waiter didn’t remember us, but I reminded him that we’d just been there. He said “That was over 30 minutes ago, now you have to wait maybe 1 hour”. After checking his bookings he said “come back in 30”. Where I come from, this would amount to terrible service and at the very least, a very poor attitude. I told him not to worry about it and started to leave. He said “Sorry” in an insincere tone of voice and I said “what terrible service”. To my shock the waiter followed me out, grabbed me by the arm and said “it is not terrible service”. I told him to not touch me and said “it is terrible service and you’ve wasted our time”. He swore in French as I walked away and followed me for some time. What disgraceful behaviour and what a disgrace of a waiter. I would rate this experience 0 stars if I could. Steer clear...

Very disappointed in this restaurant. I had eaten here in 2018 and really liked it but the food and service went downhill. My cousin ordered spaghetti and they sent out noodles with unmelted cheese on top with little tomato sauce. The rest of the meals were super lacking in taste and presentation. But what made the experience worse is our server was so unbelievably rude. I understand that customer service really isn't a thing here but her treatment was downright mean. She stuffed 5 of us into a small room with 3 other parties and said, with her face knotted up "You need to move because I need this table." So we squished up even closer. Then we tried to ask her to remove the "spaghetti" from the bill since it was uncooked and honestly gross. She said "Well you're the one who chose that item. That's your fault." After this, she demanded we go downstairs to pay at the front since we were splitting the bill. Not a big deal but the guy messed up and charged a bit less for the 2nd batch or orders. He comes running out as we're leaving at says we need to pay the second bill, which was paid except 8 euro that he forgot. We went back in and our good friend with the short hair and glasses insisted the mistake was our fault. I was just shocked. Needless to say, I will never be returning to this place again. The low quality, high price and rude service just isn't worth it. I do animal rights activism around the world and have never had such a bad experience at a veg restaurant which really is...
