Le Reminet — Restaurant in Paris

It was honest to god, the worst experience I have ever had in a Parisian restaurant. Never have I experienced such in professionalism and rude service - I was expecting better things from all of the glowing reviews. It was our 5 year anniversary, and I explicitly told Le Reminet about this special occasion… they shoved us downstairs in the basement. We were sat next to a table of loud customers who were vulgar, noisy and smacked their lips to an intolerable degree. We endured our meal, gingerly with an AirPod in one ear to try and block out the train wreck next to us. I went up and explicitly complained and begged to be reseated upstairs where it was both more comfortable and more romantic. Alas despite the total of at least 3 empty tables… we were told that it was all reserved. We scoffed down the food (which was moderate at best) and exited within half an hour of entering the restaurant! When we paid, the server was very rude to us and informed us that the difficulty we had in the very tight space we had - was because we should have waited downstairs. All in all, I will never ever return and shall endeavour to warn everyone I know to never come to this establishment. Best of luck to them if this is how they hope to win over their customers. The joke however is on them, as the problematic customers were here for a one-off holiday, and as frequenters of Paris, it would have been wiser to invest in improving our experience. Oh well, c’est la vie. Anniversary won’t be ruined, as we have happily hopped to a MUCH nicer place....

I said clearly that we wanted "menu du midi" 16,90€, but the waiter explained (cause the menu changes everyday) the "menu du chef" which is 54€, we didn't notice anything when he explained the choices of the menu cause we didn't understand the French menu hanging up remotely near the ceiling, we only found that out when we received the bill, the waiter said that since we ordered something with lobster(small mixed pieces) for starter(which he explained that it was in the choices for the menu) we should have known that it's not gonna be the price for menu du midi, hence he charged us 10€ more for that, but I've been to the restaurant many times for menu du midi, I've had very good sea food with the price of 16,90€. Taking advantages of us because we're foreigners is a horrible thing a restaurant can ever do, not to mention this was my favorite restaurant in Paris, I can't believe the restaurant with this reputation would ever do this. We paid since we've finished the meal already. But I'm very disappointed and I need to tell all the tourists who're coming to this restaurant, be aware of the service, they might try to take advantage of you because you don't understand the French menu (no English version). Would have given zero star if I could. Oh and except from the menu, they charged us additionally 20€ without explanation when I asked and on the receipt it shows as "supplementary". How convenient it is for the restaurant to charge customers more simply like that without explaining cause you don't know the...

The worst service experience I have ever had in Paris. The wait staff was rude, with attitude, obnoxious, inapt, confused and glacially slow. We had a 9PM reservation, which I confirmed well in advance. When we arrived, after the wait staff decided to glance in our direction, we were shown to our table in silence. Getting menus took another 15 min. Getting water and drinks took a further 15 min. When I asked when they would grace us with their presence so that we can order, I was told - "Everyone is waiting tonight!". No apologies, no attention, just this statement and then the waiter just walked away. No one ever came back to ask if we wanted another drink. No one brought bread. All I saw was 4 waiters congregating around the bar area with a very confused look on their faces. After 50 minutes of sitting in the restaurant and never being approached again, I put cash on the table for the first round of drinks and we just walked out looking for another place to eat where service would actually be pleasant. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else where staff actually cares about...
