Contrary to other reviews, I had an AMAZING experience on this boat.
I booked a dinner cruise for 7:30 - 8:45 (19:30 - 20:45) and paid the extra amount for a window seat. Some people next to me who were early in line also got window seats without paying extra. No big deal, good for them!
They sent multiple follow up emails to ensure you know where to board with very clear directions. Check your PDF ticket for a map and email for GPS coordinates. I found it easy to follow, although there is no sign at the boarding location. It’s just a locked iron gate. If you are one of the first there, you will be unsure. Once more people line up it is obvious where to go.
When I first got on board, I was seated as requested and there was a bottle of water waiting for each guest as well as a wine glass if you previously booked wine or champagne with your service. If not, it’s OK! You can always order on the boat.
There was no choice of appetizer. It was already chosen. There were 2 main entrees (fish and veal) to choose from, and an auxiliary vegetarian gluten free option. And 2 desserts to choose from (chocolate mousse or rice pudding).
Appetizers came very quickly, then after the boat departed the servers were quick to start coming around to take orders. Use the QR code on your table to view the drink and food menus. Be prepared to order ALL courses from drinks to dessert when they come around.
Once ordered, I went to the top of the boat for air and pictures. Even though it rained for part of the trip, I brought an umbrella and was still allowed on top as was everyone else.
Even though i had a window seat, i stayed on top as much as possible. Much better views and pictures. I just peeked down through the glass at my table periodically to see if my drinks or food were being served, then went down if so.
The food came promptly. My veal was incredibly good and the broth it came with was so delicious. I enjoyed all courses served and felt it was timely and well cooked.
There were ZERO announcements of landmarks. It is up to you to find them and choose when to take photos. There are two staff photographers who will be available to take your pictures. They will print them without your asking and offer you a selection to keep, of up to 3 I believe, for ~15€. They were good quality pictures in color or black and white for ambiance.
I chose to take my own pictures on my phone and ask other passengers to take some for me.
When it came time to settle the bill (which was extra because I had extra alcohol that I didn’t previously pay for) the server came and found me on the top deck. Cash or card are accepted.
Overall, between dinner and the views and experience, it was well worth it. Many passengers were on a romantic getaway and had a lovely time.
I wholeheartedly recommend...
Read moreFirstly I was shocked at one bottle if water being shared between two and thought that incredibly strange. Secondly I was shocked at how filthy the glasses were and then I began noticing everything else. The glasses and cutlery were filthy as well as the rubber plate rest at the tables. We ordered drinks a coke zero and a mango juice we waited a solid 40 mins before we received these drinks. Our starter was served supposedly ‘beluga lentil velouté’ something I’ve never heard of before can only describe it as blended up mushrooms with dirt and foamed milk on top. This was the single most vile food item I have ever witnessed but alas we all have different tastes and I was excited for the rest of the food nonetheless. My coke zero arrived flat, I let the waitress know she took it and bought it back to me ten minutes later stating ‘we cannot get bubbles’ i was not offered an alternative simply left to sit there with my flat coke. I was still charged for it at rhe end of my meal despite the waitress knowing it was flat and I was unable to drink it. Then came some very random bread rolls which were placed onto afore mentioned filthy mat and so therefore not eaten. Then finally the mains were served, i loved that they were being served in cast iron pots I thought it was a really cute touch and was looking forward to my veal blanquette however when the lid was lifted it smelt like fish, I thought a mistake had been made and so told the waitress oh ‘I ordered the veal’ to which she replied ‘yes this is veal’. I tasted some of the veal and it was like eating a stringy bit of fish i do not know what happened there. I tried to eat some of the rice from around it and the rice was hard and bland. At this point I was honestly starving i had done 16 thousand steps and not eaten since 11am I had one of my daughter’s chicken strips and these were lovely! I did not try the potatoes but they looked good! On to dessert we both went with the mango, I was pleased to be able to actually eat something. This was our very first activity and I tried so had to enjoy it but felt throughly let down by the food. We had a great experience with the photographers on board and made some special memories but I really do feel like it was tainted. I would appreciate if my review could be taken on board and a better service could be provided for future patrons I would hate for anyone to feel as let down as I have...
