A Perfect Lunch at Monsieur Dior: I recently had the pleasure of dining at Monsieur Dior, and the experience was nothing short of memorable. Since I am not fluent in French, I’ll describe the dishes in plain English to make it easier for others like me.
For starters, we had a beautifully presented tuna salad, which looked more like an art piece than a dish. The poached egg, covered in black sesame (as the staff explained), was an interesting addition that made the salad both light and delicious. I can still recall the flavours now.
We also ordered a ham sandwich, and although it may sound simple, this was no ordinary sandwich. The combination of ham and cheese was so rich and flavourful, far beyond what you’d expect from just a sandwich. It left me genuinely impressed.
For my main, I opted for steak with fries, which was my second steak in Paris, but this one was on a completely different level. Cooked perfectly to medium, the steak was tender and came with an incredible sauce, one I’d love to have the recipe for. The balance of flavours was just right, making me wonder if Paris really does have the best steak?
For dessert, we enjoyed an apple tart and a hazelnut pie. Both were beautifully crafted, with layers of complex flavours, making them the perfect end to the meal.
The impeccable service, combined with the setting inside the Dior house—which feels like an art installation itself—made the entire experience even more special. While the price at €358 for three people might seem steep, it was well worth it for the overall experience of dining in such a luxurious and artistic environment.
This lunch was the ideal way to conclude my Paris trip in style, creating lasting memories with good friends. I rarely give glowing reviews, but this one certainly earned it. I hope to return again...
Read moreThe only redeeming quality of Monsieur Dior restaurant is its stunning design and the luxurious Dior-branded plates and cutlery. Beyond that, the experience was nothing short of disastrous.
We stayed for two hours, and our main courses never arrived. When we pointed out that others who arrived at the same time had already eaten and left, the response we got was shockingly dismissive: “Yeah, you ordered appetizers.” To make matters worse, we ordered a simple salad, and they initially got it wrong, requiring a replacement.
The service was abysmal. Our waiter, Antoine—who also happened to be the manager—was cold, unwelcoming, and seemed completely uninterested in providing a fine dining experience. Dressed in a white bow, he didn’t smile, barely answered our questions, and left us feeling like we didn’t belong there.
We eventually gave up, asked for the check, and left without ever receiving our mains—two hours of waiting for nothing.
In summary, Monsieur Dior is a huge disappointment. Despite its fancy aesthetics, it fails spectacularly as a fine dining establishment. If you’re looking for good food and service, this is...
Read moreThis experience was amazing I have no complaints. MEAL- we had a shared entree, the Langoustines Crues, ham & cheese, mains we had the Turbot A La Cubaine, filet of fish and Filet Au Poivre Frite. We had 3 glasses of wine and one dessert which was 2 scoops of sorbet. The wine, the entree, the main, magnifique. When I tell you the food is amazingly done, super tasty and light. You will not feel guilty about anything you eat here. The restaurant is upstairs in the store and you must have a reservation to sit at a table, otherwise you’ll sit at the bar. Dress code is casual but I dressed up for the occasion. Bathroom was IMMACULATELY clean and there’s a man outside who cleans each stall after using. Service, everyone was gracious and helpful. Our waiter was kind enough to tell us everything that’s on the menu in English. This place is stylish and elegant and I will definitely be back when I’m in the city. You won’t be disappointed. Pricing I think is fine; our meal was €214 minus tip which we left. SIDE NOTE: there will be plenty of ppl serving you BUT you do not have to tip them all. I personally tipped the one who was...
