Do not purchase from this location. They implement shady business practices through blatant deception and attempts to take advantage of international shoppers. Truly, the most disappointing experience I've endured while shopping luxury.
I shopped here on March 13th, 2023 and returned an item less than six hours later. The steps in this disastrous process are as follows;
The sales associate informed me it was against their policy to issue a refund, but they could give me store credit. He claimed to have "called his manager at home from the back," therefore, it was out of his control. When I asked to speak to his manager and pointed out that the receipt says all items can be returned within 14 days in original condition (the item hadn't even been opened & I purposely withheld from the staff that I knew French), he returned to the back and reemerged claiming they could issue a refund, but it would be through an international wire transfer - an obvious ruse to dissuade me from moving forward with the return process. The associate kept insisting that "this is how returns are granted internationally." I used an international credit card to make the purchase because the original transaction activated a fraud alert to my bank account. Despite me claiming it was not possible to receive money via wire transfer to a credit card, the sales associate pressed on. I called the card's customer service number, was passed around multiple times, and my original statement was confirmed by a customer representative. At this point, it was a few minutes past the store's closing time, and the associate's frustration was evident. I was hustled out of the location and the associate ended up writing down my credit card number on a piece of scrap paper and requested that I send him a screenshot of my bank account, just incase, for an international wire transfer (not the original form of payment as directed on the receipt). Additionally, the sales associate kept referencing that the "woman who works in the office" would take care of the transfer. I spent the next week and a half attempting to get in contact with the boutique (who does not answer their phone) and checking with my credit card company and bank to ascertain if evidence of an initiated wire transfer was spotted - to no one's surprise, it was not. Finally, I texted the associate whose number I had due to sending him my bank details (!) and asked him to just ship me the bag if they were not going to return my money because at this point, their practices are indicative of theft. I received a prompt reply which informed me that they issued a "transaction reversal." A transaction reversal should have been the first course of action, not the end result of a skeptical process.
If you want to purchase Valentino in France, order online or visit the department store Galeries Lafayette. Online is self explanatory, and department stores have an array of sales within one day and a higher probability that the associates do not work on commission; therefore, a return of one item will not "make or break" their sales metrics...
