Service ZERO
Dear team, Since you decided to reply to my feedback i will let you know what excatly went wrong. (I was doing you a favor by not explaining why.) We arrived, 4 people. Waited a very very long time to be seated as there is only one waiter for at least 40 covers during lunch time. There was absolutely no problem from our end since we know this is purely a touristic restaurant in front of Galerie Lafayette. (We were very tired from walking and this is why we decided to stop have lunch there) Once we were seated, we waited at least 10 minutes before we had our drinks served. Once we were served the drinks, we waited another 20 minutes for the server to come and give us the food menu and after that another 10 minutes for him to come and take our order. (P.S: We were dying from hunger) Well, for context for the travelers reading this comment, my friend started smoking his cigarillo since the beginning as soon as we were seated. Literally every personnel saw him. From the server who took our order to the manager that passed by 100 times to smoke his cigarette out on the street. The restaurant was pretty much full. We took a seat near an empty table on purpose and tried to have a seat at the ends of the terrace not to disturb anyone. Because we know that the smoke of the cigarillo might disturb some people. Few minutes after, the waiter took our order, a table of 5 people came to sit right next to us. They saw that one of us was smoking a cigarillo but took a seat anyway (the restaurant was starting to get empty at that time). Once seated, they stared badly at us and one of them went to complain to the waiter. The waiter then came to inform us that she had orders from her manager to tell us that any sort of cigar (small or big) was forbidden. She then gave us the choice to stay but throw it away or leave. Please keep in mind that all the terrace was full of cigarettes smokers. Well let me tell you dear team of Paul & Julienne, i come from the hospitality and F&B world I even did my masters in that domain in france, also, I am not a tourist and live in Paris. Never in my life i would have treated my guests that way and to be clear, the only cowards here is you dear 'The Paul & Julienne team'. The manager afterwards, came and told us that no one saw us before or else would have told us sooner and made it clear that there were no complaints from guests just a rule. Instead of assuming that other guests are disturbed by the smoke and maybe offer us to change tables to an off-center table (because you had many afterwards) especially since it has been more than 40minutes we were seated and we were waiting for our food. Literally all of the nice restaurants in paris have welcomed us. If there was to be a problem a perfectly fair solution was on the table. None NEVER gave us the choice to leave or stay with conditions. Oh and btw, the manager told us he was a cigar smoker himself and he understood that it was unfair and frustrating. We paid for our drinks that we did not even have time to finish and that we initially ordered to have with our food. If you think you served us like the art of french service, oh trust me you are denial… Now let me tell you that you only made fools out of yourselves with that disrespectful answer of yours. And the only ones who lack community etiquette is you dear. Trust me we are only doing a favor for people who are considering coming to your restaurant, I hope they see this.

Read moreOur recent experience here left us utterly disappointed and disheartened. After a day of shopping at Galeries Lafayette, my two friends and I decided to unwind with a cup of coffee.
Upon entering the café, we were greeted with what seemed like a standard inquiry about whether we were there for drinks or food. We politely mentioned that we were interested in coffee. There were many tables available. As my friends settled into their seats, I excused myself to use the restroom. To my disbelief, upon returning, I found my friends standing outside the café. Apparently, after one of my friends had ordered a coffee, the manager proceeded to aggressively question them about further orders. Despite my friend's assurance that we were waiting for my return, the manager abruptly declared that serving three people with just one coffee was "not possible" and told my friends they had to leave.
This level of rudeness and disrespect is utterly unacceptable. I have traveled to numerous countries and visited countless cafes, yet I have never encountered such appalling treatment. The manager's behavior not only marred our experience but also left us feeling unwelcome and deeply...
Read morePaul Julienne: Rude Service, Indifferent Management, and Hot Water as a Luxury Dining at Paul Julienne was an utter disaster! My wife simply wanted hot water, but instead of accommodating a basic request, we were forced to shell out €7 for a cup of tea. As if that wasn’t outrageous enough, the server—dripping with rudeness—declared that hot water could “only be refilled once,” offering no explanation beyond a dismissive “no reason.” When I challenged this absurd rule, the server’s attitude only grew more hostile, turning a simple request into a confrontation. Meanwhile, the manager stood by, coldly indifferent, watching the dispute unfold without lifting a finger to intervene. When questioned later, the manager casually admitted “there’s no such rule,” exposing the server’s arrogance and the restaurant’s chaotic management. Paying a premium for tea only to face rude service, arbitrary restrictions, and a manager who couldn’t care less? Paul Julienne has mastered the art of turning a meal into a maddening ordeal. Steer clear of this place unless you enjoy being treated like an inconvenience while begging for a sip...
