I usually don't give negative reviews however I found the coffee, the service and the atmosphere awful, therefore I felt like I should leave my review, not sure why it has such a high average rating as of the time of writing this review. The atmosphere gives café in a hospital or eldercare, the drinks are loveless straight out of a machine and the personnel is unfriendly.

We ordered a dirty chai latte and a hot chocolate and they both tasted absolutely awful it was hard to finish them. It didn't help that the waiter kept looking at us with an unpleasant facial expression as if we were blocking his table. We had to witness him constantly denying customers with an unfriendly tone and telling women who were kindly asking to use the bathroom that they need to buy a coffee if they want to use it. I get not letting everyone use your bathroom but surely one can charge 50 cents or just be nice for once or at least tell them in a nice tone that they can't use it instead of pushing them to buy an overpriced...

If you wanna learn how to be rude go to this place The old guy was an old guy (50ish ) was so rude and didn’t know how to communicate with costumers .. we literally asked for dessert and they said go to the main dash and choose your self and once we wanted to say we want this the old guy comes and was rude and refused to even answer any question and made a gesture with his hand 🤚 as he doesn’t wanna answer .. we go back to our table and we were told there is no left of what we chose cuz it was reserved.. that guy could have told us when were there but he chose rudeness. 1/10 never...

À ce jour mon café favori à Strasbourg ! Après en avoir testé quelques autres, je trouve que le 1924 est à la fois le plus agréable et équilibré. L'accueil y est toujours chaleureux avec un personnel qui discute et conseil volontiers, et prend son temps dans les échanges tout en restant très professionnel et efficace. Contrairement à beaucoup de cafés en ville, on n'a pas l'impression d'y être pressé.

Au rez-de-chaussée est la partie boutique, très exhaustive (vaisselle, cafetières, théières, chocolats et autre), et on peut y retrouver à la vente la large gamme de cafés et thés qui sont aussi en dégustation à la carte. À l'étage est la partie salon, très spacieuse et lumineuse. En tant qu'étudiant, j'y vais régulièrement pour travailler car c'est suffisamment calme dans la semaine. Il y a des prises et le wifi, donc on peut facilement y rester toute l'après-midi. On y trouve aussi une petite salle à l'écart pour plus d'intimité.

Pour en revenir à la carte, le 1924 propose plus d'une vingtaine de cafés (dont j'ai maintenant presque fait le tour) et au moins quatre fois plus de thés et infusions. Les prix sont franchement raisonnables et tout est excellent. Mention spéciale pour les cafés Blue Mountain et Kopi Luwak Sauvage (interrogez-les à leur sujets vous serez surpris !), ça mérite le détour rien que pour les goûter. La carte propose aussi de très bonnes viennoiseries et pâtisseries, en plus de formules petit déjeuner et autres boissons.
