Tucked away in the maze of a city that often gets lost in its own culinary bravado, I stumbled upon a humble joint that didn’t need the fanfare of a full dining experience to impress. No dine-in, no frills, just the essential lifeblood of any great food spot: a simple menu and food that speaks for itself.

I went for the Royal Banh Mi, and let me tell you, this is no ordinary sandwich. The baguette, perfectly sized, strikes that elusive balance between chewy and crunchy, something so many places get wrong. The usual suspects were there, pĂątĂ©, I believe chicken & pork, pickled carrots, crisp cucumber, and fresh coriander, but it’s the attention to detail that sets this apart. The carrot was pickled just right, the cucumber firm, and the coriander fresh, like it had just been pulled from the earth. But the real kicker? The bird’s eye chili, fiery, unapologetic, and absolutely essential.

The lemongrass chicken salad was no slouch either. The flavors were clean, vibrant, and just what you want from a dish like this. Sure, we missed the fish sauce, that unmistakable hit of umami that normally ties a Vietnamese salad together, and the regular dressing was conspicuously absent. But who knew mustard and mayonnaise could step in so gracefully? They did, and it worked. Somehow, it all just worked.

This place is a breath of fresh air in a city drowning in its own predictability. A welcome break from the monotonous parade of overdone French cuisine. This little spot reminded me why food doesn't need to be complex to be unforgettable. Sometimes, you just need the...

The amazing reviews of this place can be misleading. Atleast, this is the case for their sandwiches. My boyfriend bought a couple of sandwiches for us (chicken for him and vegetarian for me) and I can say they probably were the worst sandwiches we have ever had. There was no balance in taste, just a lot of carrot with chicken or raw tofu. Carrot also had a weird taste to it. I don't know why someone will sell food like this. I am a person who makes it a point to finish my food and never throw anything but this was an absolutely traumatic experience and I had to eventually throw half of my sandwich away.

Service and atmosphere...

Super nice Vietnamese restaurant with super nice staff. The food is well prepared and hygiene is well ensured. I have been a loyal customer of the restaurant since it was opened in 2017, and I'm impressed by how the employees prepare the dishes with so much care and dedication. All the people working here wear gloves when cooking, which is not always seen in other restaurants. I am fully satisfied with the service, and wholeheartedly recommend this...

Cheap eats and good quality fast food freshly made while you wait. It’s a bit out of the way from the main shopping center just on the edge of the canal but only a couple of minutes walk from the main strip. EFPOS available and you can pre-order online. Try the ravioli seven piece or the pho soup. You can dine in with limited spaces.

As many reviews have mentioned, this place is only for takeaway, and I was blown away with the bahn mi royal. The combination of flavors were spot on and the high quality baguette đŸ„– was an awesome vessel that made everything work in harmony. I’d love to take their sandwich with a cold beer outside on a warm day while enjoying this city.
