⭐⭐☆☆☆
Breakfast experience, Saturday morning - my friends and I visited this bakery in Strasbourg and found the food enjoyable, but the service was severely lacking. The staff, particularly one of the girls who was behind the counter, was rude, rushing us and with attitude. Initially I thought, she will pay for our order given the exercised behavior. After buying multiple items and having a teenager girl with us, we decided to sit and enjoy some of the items purchased (even they were sold under pressure and without receipt) Few minutes later, while asking for a fork, another staff member approached us explaining the house rules starting in French (needless to say our group is a speaking English only group). We were explained in unclear manner that the pastries are more expensive if dining in and it is imposible for them to tell us the extra amount we owe as we have purchases multiple items. Few recommendations: 1- a sign to explain the house rules and not treat your customers as charity objects and be condescending 2- hire stuff that actually is customer oriented 3- use a receipt for inventory purposes if you happen to have not announced surge charges 4- have a store in a...
Read moreWhile wandering through Strasbourg's charming streets, I stumbled upon a culinary gem known as L’Atelier 116, highly recommended by a local. This bakery etched an unforgettable memory on my taste buds. Their divine olive bread, adorned with bursts of olive flavor and a golden crust, vividly portrayed L’Atelier 116's dedication to quality and craftsmanship. Delightful eclairs, graced with delicate choux pastry and exquisite fillings ranging from classic to innovative, stood as a testament to the bakery's artistry. A revelation in the form of a pistachio muffin, adorned with crushed pistachios, exhibited a harmonious blend of textures and flavors. Alongside an array of sandwiches catering to various tastes, the bakery's use of fresh ingredients and expertly crafted bread rendered each option immensely satisfying. Beyond the extraordinary food, L’Atelier 116 emanated a warm and inviting atmosphere, complemented by a staff whose attentive demeanor made me feel like a truly valued guest. When you find yourself in Strasbourg, seize the chance to experience L’Atelier 116—it's a culinary treasure bound to captivate your taste buds and evoke a...

Coffee machine is one of those with buttons, not a proper one.
Staff is not friendly, some of them don't speak English, not even the prices (not a big problem for me personally but it's startling in a city like Strasbourg and considering that they profit from international visitors). They don't listen to you, they are in an unnecessary rush that doesn't seem to help get things sorted any faster, it just leads to inefficiency.
I was ordering an "espresso machiatto" and before I could say the word "machiatto" the girl interrupted me screaming "espresso" to the one at the machine, which I had to then clarify. Just take a second to listen to customers and make them feel reasonably comfortable, please.
I also witnessed how one of them sort of blamed a customer for a misunderstanding with an order. When the customer with kids briefly hinted that the misunderstanding could've been due to "English, French...", she answered in a rather unnecessarily confrontational way that "she had been speaking English all along". It wasn't a big deal at all but she decided to blame the customer and make her feel uncomfortable, how...
