La Bolée de Cidre — Restaurant in Strasbourg

Avoid at all costs! I should’ve read the reviews before going in here, but my family of 5 was hungry and needed a late breakfast. We came in, and first got offered by a sweet female server a nice table by the window on the main floor. Right at this moment, irritated looking man with the beard came and told her to take us to the basement. After we set down in the empty basement, we ordered 4 plates for my husband, 2 older children and myself, drinks for everyone. I asked if my 2 year old can just have scrambled eggs and the server said she’d need to check with her boss (the grumpy man). Then she came back and told us that my toddler can only have eggs if they are a part of the crepe meal. My 2 year old won’t eat the full crepe!! I could see she was embarrassed to pass this ridiculous information to us. We were appalled and honestly disgusted by this demand. The food that we received was just ok and we felt it was overpriced for what it was. After we left, I read some reviews on this place and I could see the similar experiences...

Poor service. First of all, with 2 friends I wanted to seat in the terrace but there was a little table for 2 persons only. That’s why I asked the waitress to give us one additional chair so we all tree could seat outside, the waitress said that can’t do so. Hmm, okay…We entered inside and ordered coffee with crepes which indeed were tasty, but again the waitress was rude and said they don’t offer cappuccino. I have been in hundreds of coffee shops and it was my first time to realise a coffee shop doesn’t serve cappuccino. I wouldn’t have put a bad review here if the service wasn’t so terrible. It’s time to realise for managers of such places the significance of training staff to be polite and professional to attract more clients rather than offending them. There are I believe so many nice crêperies in Strasbourg offering good service so this one is not...

I was so glad I ran into this restaurant when I was wandering around Strasbourg! I didn’t have reservation and didn’t even know about the place! All I saw was a line in front of the restaurant prior to their opening time which signal to me that it would be good!!

I got seated right away, and had my La Complete with bacon and sunny side up egg! It was made to perfection and was my most favorite crepe I had in France! It was nice and crispy!

I heard some people from another table said they stayed at the hotel from across the street and they came here every day for the past 5 days!! That speaks volume about how good they are!! The price was really...
