Visited this restaurant this evening and our experience was nothing short of horrible. Initially we were told to turn around and wait out in the rain when we first entered the premises - a member of staff eventually came out to fetch us before assigning us to a table that was free the entire time we were left outside in the rain. We were given menus but nobody returned to take our order - we waited nearly half an hour with our menu closed before we eventually managed to get the attention of a staff member. When the staff member took our order he essentially demanded we order more food or leave the restaurant (1 of our party has severe food allergies and as no allergy information was provided on the menu had to make the decision to only order an overpriced beer). As such and to our embarrassment, we had to get up and leave - a near 45 minutes after we first arrived at the restaurant. We won’t be back and would not recommend. A complete waste of our time and we get soaked in the rain in...
Read moreI booled to eat here because I was fed up of the same cheese, ham and chicken dishes that all of the local restaurants seem to serve. I know its a tourist spot but, yawn. We eat Indian food often and this food was very good. Freshly cooked, with complex authentic flavours. Individual spices were apparent. Portions were generous. I note from other reviews that some people believes the price to be expensive. I don't agree. Prices were, in my view very reasonabke fir well cooked, fresh food. There was only one person serving at tables, which did slow service a little, but i was watching the kitchen and service was being made as soon as the food was ready. I don't mind waiting a few minutes to eat well. We waited maybe 20 minutes for food which gave us time for a drink and a chat. When we wwnt the place was packed and take away meals were being sent out eveey few minutes. This appears to be a popular restaurant. The stagg were very polite. Based in this experience I would definately...
Read moreTheir service is bad, and the Indian food they provide lacks flavor. Every dish, whether vegetarian or non-vegetarian, had issues:
They offer mini samosas that are half the proper size and filled with various vegetables. This does not meet the standard of a samosa, and considering the low quality, the prices are unreasonably high.
Please refer to the attached photos of palak paneer and bangan bharta. These dishes have been altered so significantly that they are hardly recognizable. Instead of changing the recipes, I recommend changing the names to reflect the alterations. It is important for an Indian restaurant to maintain authenticity in its cuisine, or call it Indian fusion??
The spices in the curries were undercooked.””
I do not recommend this place. They fail to deliver authentic Indian, South Indian, or Madras cuisine. Perhaps they should consider attending culinary school before misleading foreigners under the guise of an Indian...
