Bierbar Alkopole — Restaurant in Berlin

Once upon a time this was a great bar which was our first port of call when myself and my family arrived in Berlin. Today, not so good. If you are a tourist with a knowledge of the German language then don’t try to use it in here. The staff, who were once decent people have become anti tourist and extremely rude if you attempt to speak German. Very strange people in my opinion. There are plenty other bars in the area who will welcome you in and I would advise you to spend your money in these places. Also you will pay more for your beer than the locals...

Pues al llegar, empezamos muy bien. La cerveza muy buena y muy bien atendidos (por el chico tras la barra). Al poco de estar allí, abrí un mensaje de WhatsApp, que tenía el volumen un poco más alto de la cuenta, u la señora que atendía las mesas, lejos de pedirme con educación y respeto que bajase el volumen (cosa que ya estaba haciendo antes de que me recriminase), se dirigió a nosotros como si fuesemos niños pequeños. Al irnos, solicité pagar con tarjeta y tras hacerlo correctamente, la misma señora, al entrar tras la barra, le dice algo al chico en alemán (que no entendí) y, aunque no hablo alemán, sí que entendí "tarjeta" (kreditkarte). A continuación, después de haber visto en el datáfono "Akzeptierter Betrieb" o algo así, el chico me dice (siempre en inglés) "No acepta la tarjeta". Me quedé un poco a cuadros después de haber visto "Akzeptierter Betrieb", pero para no entrar en discusiones, saqué otra tarjeta de otra entidad de crédito asociada a otro banco y volví a ver "Akzeptierter Betrieb", pero el chico me vuelve a decir que no la acepta. Llamo a mi mujer y le digo que pague con su tarjeta, también de otra entidad y asociada a otro banco. Vuelvo a ver "Akzeptierter Betrieb" y me vuelve a decir lo mismo. Tras eso, le pagué en efectivo y nos fuimos sin dejarle ni un céntimo de propina. Esa misma tarde, hice compras con la primera tarjeta y pagué la cena sin problemas en distintos...

First time in Berlin Needed a bar close to hotel. Missed it ..it’s sort of under the train station went in immediately felt intimidated loads of blokes and I assumed I was going to get a kicking once I opened my mouth and revealed I wasn’t a Berliner … I Couldn’t have been more wrong 😑. Barman was very accommodating made me feel welcome and the longer I stayed I realised the majority of patrons were tourists like me. Don’t pass it by really nice vibe...
