Great location in the centre of Berlin. The waiter we had was nice and served us very fast. A lot of cocktails available to choose from. I ordered 1L glass of beer which was great and the idea of serving beer in 1L glass is cool. Ordered a batch of potatoes with sauce which was crispy and tasty. Prices are lower than you would find in most of the other restaurants on AlexandrPlatz
2 BIG Problems.
Toilet is not free. I was shocked when I went upstairs and saw a lady who demanded me to pay some coins in order to acess toilet. When you go to a restaurant you obviously expect that the toilet is free for the guests (except if you go to McDonald's). I could not even think about such thing as paid toilet for the guests of the restaurants in the middle of Berlin.
THE WAITER SLAPPED IN THE FACE ON OF THE CUSTOMERS IN FRONT OF EVERYBODY. Yes, you read that right. There were a couple sitting few tables behind us. I dont know the reason of conflict, but from what I heard, there was some misunderstanding with the bill. It seemed like the couple paid for the salad they didn't order and realized already after they closed the bill. So they went to complain to the manager. Manager, waiter and a couple were standing and talking about the situation , it seemed like there was tension between them. An out of sudden THE WAITER HITS THE CUSTOMER IN THE FACE, IN FRONT OF ATEAST 30 OTHER CUSTOMER.
I have never seen anything like this before. Yes indeed conflict situation do happen sometimes, but there is no way that staff allows themselves to physically harass and put customers' health at risk.
I wanted to give 4 stars, but this incident ruined the...
Read moreI wanna be honest, so if someone there is reading I would like to give just a couple suggestions. 1. When you let people sit to a table outside, the table should be clean like the table inside. In my case, but I noticed it all the times, people were sitting and the staff didn't clean the surfaces and emptied the ashtray (especially when birds poop stands on chairs, tables). 2. In an international city like Berlin, Capital of Germany, at least one person of the entire staff should speak at list English and not only german. 3. People should be more polite..and now I will explain you why. I ordered a 11€ Cesar salad and arrived served like a green salad (small) with a bunch of parmesan "grattugiato" like on the pasta instead thiny slices. Chicken was obviously precooked, cold and dry, on top no sauce at all (all at the bottom) and not even cesar salad sauce but something you can find from supermarket . I asked PLEASE if the man could give me a bit more sauce because it was not a real good choice, very dry and not tasty at all...however, with arrogant face he showed me salt, pepper and olive oil already in front of me, practically annoying me quite a lot. 4. Give a look to the toilet every sometime...the toilet was stuck, stinky and dirty. I would then conclude my review with the same respect I received from one in particular of your staff...remove the "Italian restaurant" from the restaurant description, because this is an offence to our millenary...
Read moreUnprofessional and rude staff. This is a typical tourist place that sees no need to treat guests well, because they assume you're a tourist and will never return anyways. We arrived at 10:30 pm on a Monday - not a busy time. Once someone finally took our order of two beers (one light, one dark) we waited over 15 minutes and received nothing. We asked the waiter & needed to give our order again. After a total of 20 minutes we got our two drinks, but the order was wrong (two light beers). In the end we went to pay the bill (9 euro) and we thought he said 10 euros was the minimum card order (we heard him say "Zehn"). He took the card, charged it and then I asked to see the receipt and saw 15 euros was charged. He claims he said 15 was the minimum (Fünf-zehn) and maybe he did, but we accidentally heard 10 euro. We said we didn't want to pay 15 euro because 6 euro is a huge tip on a 9 euro bill. He began to argue with us, said we heard him wrong and then pointed to a random page of the menu that says 15 euro is the minimum charge. Finally, he pulled 5 euro out of his waiter purse and put it angrily on the table and walked away. It was a rude way to treat customers. Overall, a very bad & slow experience. We live in Berlin & only reason we went there was because the restaurant was next to the movie theater we had just left. Will...
