Bonanza Coffee Mitte — Restaurant in Berlin

I almost never write reviews but I am very confused by my experience here. I came here with my friends. I do think they enjoyed their drinks, which is why I gave 2 stars, however, I asked for a double shot of espresso over ice. They would not serve it to me. They said I could order just an iced latte or a iced filter coffee, which was not what I wanted. I had no problem paying extra for the cup of ice, because that is what I wanted. My friend said the ice would be for water and I would drink the espresso as is. The lady would not serve it to me because “she knew what I would actually do with the ice.” I have bought beans here before but I don’t understand why they’re so opposed to serving my espresso with ice. Their relaxing interior might be inspired by bathroom. It made me feel like I’m in my home. On the other hand, metallic beans stockers remind you the craft beer bar, so you can feel the place for enjoying communication. Relax and reading book like your home or enjoy with others, both style synthesize and it’s new for me. The combination of it is good. It’s like latte. Some of their bread and sweets are not so outstanding, but good! Coffee and latte is more sophisticated than food. Depends on who serve you, but basic level of brewing and steam-foaming milk is greater than any other coffee place in Berlin. Their latte has creamy milk so if you would prefer smooth milk on latte. Criminally overhyped and horrendously crowded (Sunday morning). Barely possible to find a seat, and I saw many people standing. The coffee seemed good for a person like me knowing next to nothing about it, with a deeper taste than one you can find in "simpler" places. There are only like 5 kinds of pastries at best (and zero food offer except that), and it's absurdly expensive. And after that a machine asks you for tips... The staff was polite and fairly nice, but it didn't save this place to be honest. Just walk several blocks and find a bakery, at least if you're not into coffee itself that much.
